On the off chance you don't know, I run a weekly writing prompt site called Flash Fiction Friday. As suggested, every Friday a new writing prompt is posted and you have about 5-6 days to write a story based on the prompt. A few weeks back one of our moderators, Thomas Pluck brought on board Scot short story writer Fiona Johnson and presented out group with a compelling prompt about Lost Children, or rather about children lost to abuse and other dangers. Fiona promised to donate 5 pounds to the UK charity Children 1st for every submission. Thomas then followed up and promised $5 per submission to Protect.org. It was quite successful as these kind of things go, generating just over $600 in donations together between Thomas and Fiona.
Because we had so many good stories, we chose the 30 best and compiled a for charity anthology. All proceeds will go to both Children 1st and Protect.org.
