Hi all,
I’m looking for an illustrator for an upcoming comic that will accompany a new space-rap concept album my friend and I are releasing later this year online called “Escape To Mizar 5”. The group’s name is Apeface and Crumplezone and this will be our second project together as this group. This will be a 16-track album.
If all goes well, the comic book will be available via iTunes as a PDF when someone purchases the record. From there we plan on offering it for free to fans as exclusive content shortly after the record’s release, and ultimately make it available to everyone for free about six months after the release.
In the interest of time and money, the comic will be in black and white and be 10 pages long, with an additional cover page.
The general storyline is as follows: “Apeface and Crumplezone, two lifelong hustlers, are sent to Mizar 5, a planet which is both a prison colony and a well-worn seedy city filled with mobsters. After being sentenced to life in prison, the two escape and eventually find themselves leading the planet’s crime syndicate.”
Nine of the ten pages are currently written, and we’re still punching up the dialogue and storyline a bit. The overall tone and look we’re hoping for is both gritty and a bit humorous. We’re hoping to release the entire package late this year.
If this sounds interesting to you, feel free to drop me a line. Of course we would like to have this drawn free of cost, but we also certainly respect the time and effort that this would require so feel free to quote a fee if you would like.
