Hello!
I'm looking for a digital colorist for an 27-page independent superhero comic. You will be coloring pre-flatted penciled pages. Payment is $85/page and there will be a one-page paid art test from one of our flatted penciled pages for those whose submissions are the best fit for this comic.
This is a work-for-hire project, installments promptly paid as stages of work are completed throughout the project. Payment through PayPal is preferred but other arrangements can be made. I would prefer to work an individual artist instead of a studio.
I am looking for a well-rendered, naturalistic style that uses local color (i.e. no overpowering color tints on the pages.) For examples of coloring work I like, you can look at my in-progress webcomic, Artifice:
http://webcomics.yaoi911.com/archive/artifice-title-page/
And this is a romance page from a previous comic, "No Kissing", which was colored straight from pencils (warning: two guys kissing):

(Coloring on both those comics was done by the totally awesome Winona Nelson.)
This short comic -- "Engaging the Enemy" -- is about a confrontation between an inexperienced superhero and the most dangerous supervillain in the world. There's action, humor and some romance. Please note, you should absolutely *enjoy* the prospect of working on a gay-themed romance comic. While nothing will be shown in this comic you wouldn't see on HBO, if you feel any squeamishness around this at all, this is not the right project for you. In fact, "not being squeamish" isn't really good enough, this project would actually have to be fun for you to work on.
Please send comics experience and links to colored sequential art (a must) to
artistsearch@gmail.com
*Please* do not respond unless you have actual comic pages to show me. I am looking for someone with experience in finishing sequential art and nailing deadlines, no exceptions.
This is the first chapter of a five chapter graphic novel. If we work well together, there would be longer projects, also for speedy pay. (Also please let me know where you found this post.)
Thank you very much for checking out my listing -- I look forward to seeing your work!
Alex
