Hi and thanks for your interest.

A unique, self-published comic book / motion comic is seeking an inker, colorist and cover colorist for four separate issues. The art was originally drawn by a kid and is a fun take on over the top action storylines and artwork . Part of the fun is to take the original drawings and apply a professional touch -- you will definitely be the better artist, and you'll ideally approach this as a paid creative experiment to make a strong statement in the comic book. While we have a few initial ideas, we are hoping to explore options together. More importantly, you'll likely have more experience than we do and we'll look to you for creative suggestions. We're open to working with one or several different artists dependent on skill level and availability.

LOCATION: We're based in Los Angeles, CA., and prefer to work locally, but will consider distant artists with a Skype conference call. English speaking only.

RATE: We know you are worth much more so hopefully we can find a balance between your creative and financial interests. Coloring four covers @ $50/each; Coloring 76 pages @ $20/page; Inking is still a question. 1/3 up front, 1/3 half way, 1/3 on final delivery. If a test page is requested, will pay a negotiated rate. Artist(s) will be expected to sign a contract and non-disclosure agreement in advance and provide w9. Paypal ok, other arrangements negotiable.

MARKETING: We have already received press from our soft launch and have hired a entertainment marketer to coincide with a fall release. Of course, you'll be credited in the email, web and credits section.

SUBMISSION: We're interested in a organic look - think materials and color palettes used in the mid 80's. However, we're open to other ideas that start there and finish somewhere more modern. Please send relevant art samples and 2-3 references by email to peartreeobservatory at me dot com. Submission deadline is Friday, August 5, 2011, notified the following week and first issue due beginning of September.

Thanks, Meg
