First time going to NYCC in October - my wife and I are staying at a hotel in Jersey City - then going to the convention at Javitz Center - if you've been there, or are local, what's the best/easiest/fastest way to work that commute?

Took a look at ground transit, metro, and no lines run by the center - the closest is some 13 football-fields away (it's 5 blocks, but very long blocks)

Is there a way to get closer so we're not packing stuff such a distance?

Thoughts?

Thanks much!

That's the problem with Javits--it's in such a wierd area. Depending where, exactly, you're staying in Jersey City a cab might not be out of the question--I'm sure the front desk could give you a idea of how much it might cost. Otherwise, your best bet is the PATH to Penn Station and either walking or grabbing a cab there....

Sorry man.

Maybe if other con-goers are staying in your hotel, you could split a cab? I'd be going with Matt's PATH suggestion, myself, then walking to the Javitz from Penn.

Thanks guys - much appreciated! PATH to Penn then M34 sounds doable, and yeah, i'll ask the front desk while i'm there too.
