You're not trying to palm Red Hulk off on me are you? I heard thats balls.

Only fanboys hated Loeb's Hulk because the story went over their head. It's perfectly enjoyable.

I don't think that story went over anyone's head...

Irredeemable is really good.

Scalped is still kicking ass.

Criminal.

I think you may be on to something there.
I was digging New Krypton but lost track of it. was this cool?
what about Blackest night and Dark Avengers? would they be worth picking up in trades? I think trades in now the way forward for me now.

Even though I don't care for most of the Ultimate line and a lot of Millar's work starts off as a good idea that just gets lost... I think the Ultimate Avengers was pretty good.

But I'm pretty behind on comics myself so I'm really not the guys to suggest anything.

Agreed. Stay away from most current stuff. It'll make your head hurt.

Jesus, for a comic book website we dont have much positive to say about current story lines.

Mark Bertolini

There's plenty of good, current stuff.

Brubaker's Captain America run is stellar.

Andy Diggle on Daredevil is pretty good, and his Shadowland mini looks badass.

Matt Fraction's Invincible Iron Man continues to be amazing.

I'm sure there's more.

I'll second the Brubaker stuff. Read through a couple trades not too long ago. Good stuff.

Also some of the Marvel Noir stuff. But that's if your into that. And not all of them were worth the money...

Do you guys just look for threads where people are talking about current comics just to trash them?

Aidy, some Marvel stuff I have been enjoying and recommend...

Thor
Wolverine Weapon X
Invincible Iron Man
Daredevil
Punisher MAX stuff

Some of the new Avengers stuff looks interesting as well.

Wasn't any trashing going on. Some suggestions made and opinions given.

People are so sensitive lately.

Looked to me more like they were trashing current comics.

There are lots of good comics out there, so ignore those that have nothing good to say. I don't read many mainstream marvel and DC books... but

Ex Machina is a really smart political drama with a superhero.
Fables is good.
I enjoyed a Batman and Robin
Marvel's Soleil line publishes lots of quality French comics if you're looking for something that's not superhero.
IDW has lots of quality strip reprint projects like Lil Abner, Rip Kirby, X-9
Invincible and Walking Dead are always good
Fear Agent,Empowered, Hellboy, and Usagi Yojimbo from Dark Horse are always entertaining.

I read Scourge of the Gods about 2 weeks ago will be reading Spin Angels some time this weekend. All the Soleil books have been good. It's the only line that I own every hardcover for that I can find.

Bru's Cap run and Fraction Iron Man, definitely, and I wholeheartedly agree with the Soliel imprint stuff but for Ythaq, which was mediocre.

I really enjoyed Sky Doll from Soleil as well. Haven't been overly let down by any of them really.

Get I.R.$ from Cinebook. It's no-frills crime fiction with superb storytelling and it's in volumes rather than single issues.

I like Warren Ellis' Astonishing X-Men run.

I don't read much DC stuff, the last book I really liked was Simon Dark, but it got canned. Morrison's Batman and Robin is a lot of fun, though.

Mouse Guard's brillance is only lessened by the horrible lettering.
Eventually, you may be able to get by that.

No, do not pick up Miller's All Star Batman and Robin.

Grant Morrison's new Batman and Robin is incredible.

Pretty much, yeah, with Dick as Bats and Damian as Robin. Quitely only did the art on the first 3 (I think?) issues, and then the artist started rotating per story arc, but some solid artists like Billy Tan and Cameron Stewart have been working on the title.

I'm loving the new villains Morrison is creating. Flamingo is a scary-ass dude, even though he wears pink.
