hi newt!!
I have a question for you if you don't mind. I have two toads and two tree frogs in an aquarium. I think we pretty much gave them a good habitat with moss a log some rocks bowl of water yadda yadda. My question is how many crickets and how often do i feed them?
The little guys went to town tonight on some crickets i think i put like ten to fifteen in there. Any tips would be wonderful. Thank you newt :)

I don't think you have to worry *too* much about overfeeding them, because it's crickets. If the frogs don't eat them, they'll run and hide and the frogs will get them when they're hungry again.
Bio's right, though a sufficiently hungry cricket will sometimes try to chew on a frog. Underfeeding is not really a problem either. Just watch and make sure none of the animals starts to look emaciated. I feed my frogs once a week, but the timing is not critical.
Bait store or pet shop crickets are usually malnourished, and so don't make the best frog food as is. You can improve their nutritional content by "dusting" or "gutloading" them with various products available at the pet store. You dust crickets by putting them in a bag with a dusting powder and shaking until they are coated. Gutloading involves keeping the crickets for a few days and giving them a nutrient-rich feed. Either way the nutrients are passed on to the frogs.
Wild caught insects, spiders, and worms are often more nutritious. Just be sure to get them from areas that aren't sprayed with pesticides or fertilizers. Avoid beetles, caterpillars, butterflies, true bugs, bees, wasps, and ants, as they may be toxic or otherwise dangerous. Most other insects are safe.
Any photos of your critters?

I worked briefly for a pet store, I remember having to "shake and bake" the crickets (throwing the crickets into the bag, then dusting them, and shaking the bag to make sure they were all sufficiently coated). So there's a chance the place you get your crickets from may coat them for you.

Wow, this is very interesting.
So what exactly does dusting them do? Is the dust like a powder form of nutrition?
Yeah. Most of the dusts are largely calcium, often with some other trace minerals thrown in.

Thanks guys! I don't have pictures yet. I want to take some soon cause these guys are just tiny. The tree frogs are barely larger than a quarter and the toads somewhere around a silver dollar in size. It was just a miracle that i seen them as i was turning into the drive way, i almost hit them. I was keeping them to show the boy and kevin fell in love with them.
