a friend is looking for a Batman-Superman book, probably around theearly to mid '90's in terms of time frame. The cover features Superman kneeling in chains, while Batman stands behind him,his cowl an executioner's mask. The story seemed to concern a magic tree and alternate dimensions.Doesn't sound at all familiar to me,but as I love to search for stuff, thought I'd ask.

Hello--
I did some searching and I think I found it:

http://dc.wikia.com/wiki/World%27s_Finest_Vol_1_299

It's called "The Shadow of the Executioner", and the synopsis says, "Superman and Batman learn the secret of the Cosmic Tree and meet the aliens who programmed it."

Hope that's what you needed!

:D Yeah, I had some free time...

I first looked in a cover search website, but then found the DC database. I think I typed in "Batman executioner" and got it.

Well, I'm not entirely sure about this one, but the Marvel Database says that Kurt Marko is Juggernaut's father. I looked at the appearances of Kurt and one of them might be right--maybe "The Origin of Professor X". Here's the link to all the appearances, and the one in particular I think might be it...

Appearances:
http://marvel.wikia.com/Category:Kurt_Marko_(Earth-616)/Appearances

Origin of Professor X:
http://marvel.wikia.com/Comics:X-Men_Vol_1_12

Hope that helps.

Note: I don't think that story mentions the Weapon X project, but that the fathers worked together at a nuclear testing facility in New Mexico--Alamogordo on the Black Womb Project-

From the Marvel Database:
"The Black Womb Project was a secret project funded by the United States Project and based at a nuclear facility in Alamogordo, New Mexico. It was created to research genetics and mutation. Both Brian Xavier (father of Charles Xavier) and Kurt Marko (father of Cain Marko) were members of the Project and allowed its head, Dr. Nathan Milbury (Mister Sinister) to perform experiments on their sons. The Project also experimented on thousands of mutant babies, including Mortimer Toynbee."

Ok. I didn't know they ever went back to that story and involved Sinister.

I remember X-men vol 2 #10 and 11 I think...New villain called Hazard is the one who revealed the connection between their 3 dads.
I loved the character and wished they went back to him.
