Shades of not having any good villains.

All Im going to say here is don't judge these ads based on the art alone...

If you're not reading Guardians of the Galaxy or some of the other Cosmic Marvel books, you're missing out on some of the better superhero comics Marvel is producing and they've been doing it quietly for the past FIVE YEARS.

I've read some of it. due in part to the artist on the book, and those cosmic books are hit/miss. HATE what they did to the surfer. :man:

I'm a big fan of Marvel Cosmic these days. Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning have been entrusted with it, with Bill Rosemann guiding them. They're doing some great work. Good stuff!

What books are you reading?

Aside from a four issue mini series several years back where Surfer once again became the Herald of Galactus and a quick appearance in Planet Hulk & Son of hulk (which I don't count as a cosmic books) we haven't even seen him.

QUASAR FTW!!!!!

One of my all time favorites is back.

I was COMPLETELY fine with Phyla-Vell as a character, but they should never have called her Quasar. If anything she needs to be a legacy character for, its the lineage of Mar-Vell.

The mini series they gave to beta ray bill where he is hunting galactus. And the fact that the surfer HAS NO BOOK BUT NOVA DOES?!

WTF! :man:

I agree the Surfer deserves a book... both he and NOVA had minis in the first Annihilation event. But Nova carries a book. Marvel insists Surfer books don't sell well enough to sustain an ongoing title. Lobby for a Surfer book, but don't be hatin' NOVA... that's sort of skewed. We've at least seen the Surfer in minis and as a guest.

I thought "Requiem" was good. But then came "In Thy Name" that hurt my eyes! Liked the Surfer's guest turn in the NOVA title a couple years ago, though some didn't care for the story. Surfer fans are a finicky lot. Thought the Skaar guest turn was a good read, but I didn't agree with how Norrin Radd could be controlled like that, that easily. It's not like he could be held in a headlock or something by the Black Panther... yeah, that was bad.

Current Marvel Cosmic Editor Bill Rosemann has said he'd like to get the Surfer into an ongoing, but it has to be done right. Sounds hopeful.

Nova's been great, though. If you're a cosmic fan, it comes highly recommended.

It's GL in the MU.

Waiting for the "different colored" nova corps to start up. Black corps, blue corps all started by thanos for shits and giggles. :man:

don't mind me, I'm just jaded. :(

Silver Surfer does need his own book again. The concept is solid but he's a victim of that concept and now that he's the Herald of Galactus once again, many writers would feel limited but what can be done.

Jim Starlin and Ron Marz got the best out of the character back in the 90's and no one has come close since.

Ha!

And it is hard to argue that NOVA's not a little influenced by GL...
