I'd say it was Gwen Stacy's son but I hope Marvel doesn't want to revisit that chapter in its history, so I'm going with Harry Osborne.

Malibu is owned by Marvel.
Valiant properties are owned by a new Valiant company.

If I had to guess it would be either John Jameson, or Flash Thompson. I'm leaning towards Flash because he had been getting a bit of screen time with the annual and he just reappeared in the last issue as well. I don't think it will be Harry because it seems like Norman has plans for Menace that will piss him off in the future, so a father son reunion I think is out of the question for now.

I'm going to guess another clone of Ben Reilly. :p

Well, at least it's written by Joe Kelly. At a glance this looked like the kind of crap Bendis put out on regular basis.

They could have done a little better on the armor design, though. That eagle logo is just not good graphic design. *sigh*

Weird, at first glance I thought the bird was looking up at his head.

It'll be Harry, unless they play "Guess Who?" for a year like they did with Menace and Jackpot. If they do that, it'll be some random character and there will be a 30% chance that it'll actually be a woman.

Cool. Only I don't get it.

@Phatman: No, the Bandit's allright but that sorry looking eagle on 'American Son' have a tail that looks like a baby's dick and on top of that it has the worst example of photoshop emboss effect usage I've ever seen.

If it is Harry, then the question is that whether he's for or against his father and he does know his father better then anyone, except perhaps Peter, but recent issues indicate that he knows that his father is up to no good and maybe this will turn out to be father vs. son where Harry creates a suit that's similar to Cap's costume, as well as the Green Goblin suit from the first movie and may have similar gizmo, while relying on his own enhanced strength, speed, and agility, as well as increase intelligence , that he got from the goblin formula.

Fixed it for you.

You are beyond a fan.

You are definitely one of Bendis' sheep.

Come up with an idea of your own for once, please.

And it came to pass that the Bendisians and the Johns Clan decided they were absolutely incompatible, and went their separate ways. The end.

Quoted for truth.

I'll bite my tongue on the matter anyway - I'd prefer to keep my opinions of both those writers to myself. It's like arguing faith; everybody wants to talk about how great theirs is.

That said, is there any question as to whether or not it's Harry?

From the Marvel Panel at the FX Con:

The next question concerned the upcoming “Spider-Man: American Son” and what creators would be involved in that story. Jim said that no one on the panel was involved, but that he did have some knowledge about the story. He confirmed that it is a Dark Reign tie-in, heavily involving the Iron Patriot and Norman Osborn, as well as a new hero for Spider-Man’s world. It’s going to be a five part story, starting with Amazing Spider-Man #595 and leading up to #600. The panel reminded readers to remember that in the world of the Dark Reign, new heroes don’t necessarily mean good guys. Issue #600 of Amazing Spider-Man will be a huge, massive issue. According to the panel, Marvel is doing something that no one has done before, which is to do a super-sized issue that has a 60-page lead story written by Dan Slott and drawn by John Romita, Jr. In addition to that, there will be numerous 5-page stories by the rest of the Spider-Man writers. Then, also, there will be a 10-page story from Stan Lee himself. It will be a 104-page comic of all new material for only $4.99, and the story will thrust Spider-Man into his next year. And for those who have been wondering, “American Son” will answer the question of how Spider-Man reacts to having his greatest nemesis running the country.
