This part is very interesting.....

Blackest Night: Batman, Blackest Night: Superman, and Blackest Night: Titans - These three-issue comics will tell up-close stories beginning in August about how the characters in the DCU react to seeing their deceased friends and/or family members rising from the dead to become Black Lanterns. Another wave of tie-in minis will follow in November and will include Blackest Night: Wonder Woman.

The Blackest Night: Batman make you wonder who might show up. Will we see a Black Batman Zombie of some kind?????

coughCOPOUTcough....Hmmm isn't that sort of what happened with Hal Jordan except he was the villian first than died and came back as the Spectre...now they are changing it so Batman dies, probably comes back as a villian only to have BATMAN:REBORN by Geoff Johns in a year or two.

I don't think DC will go THAT far with the Batman but there WAS a body at the end of Final Crisis #6 so there COULD be a Black Lantern Batman.

Anyone remember the character of Driq?

As a kid I thought he was one of the dumbest characters in Green Lantern. Killed in action, he was a dead, decomposing, body being held together by his ring and sheer will power. He flew around with Hal and John and the rest of the GLs in California and couldn't speak. He just kind of made wierd sounds and had to use his ring to communicate.

It took me years to realize how awesome that was.

I remember Driq finaly died when the Power Battery exploded at the end of the original series in the late 80s/early 90s. With no more energy to sustain his form, he turned to dust and his ring fell to the ground at the base of the battery.

I don't think anyone has ever said what happened to his ring or if anyone ever did anything with his remains.

I know at one point OA was destroyed and then it was rebuilt/recreated in a one-shot or mini-series. Everything was re-formed just as it was before so that would mean if Driq's remains were left at the base of the central power battery then they're still there today.

Johns would be a fool not to bring him back for this event. Question is, would be be a GL or a BL?????

If he can do that? Why not a WL?

Is that Bruce Wayne Batman or the new Batman? I assume the former.

I think I've seen that picture somewhere before. In the monthly Superman & Batman, perhaps?

It was early in the regular Green Lantern comic, Hal and Batman fight the new tattooman and at the end of the story Hal lets Bruce try on the ring. I think it was either just one issue or two, but it wasn't very long. They got Ethan Van Sciver to draw GL for the first time since his work on GL rebirth.

They also did an elseworld, where Bruce Wayne got the Green Lantern ring instead of Hal Jordan.

And Batman was offered a Yellow ring.
