Aquaman, Superman, Martian Manhunter... an undead JLA? Who'd be next? The Batman corpse Superman held in FC?

Maybe it's the faux Aquaman who replaced Arthur for a while.

Speaking of which, are White Lantern almost certain to pop up? It'd make sense with all color theme. If so, if black represents death, what being or person could represent life?

Maybe it's the faux Aquaman who replaced Arthur for a while.

I think Morisson wrote in that particular Final Crisis page "prophecied return of Arthur of Atlantis in his people's time of need" or something. He was drawn as the original Aquaman as well.

That guy up there as a Black Lantern look nothing like the new Aquaman.

Blackest Night will feature Aquaman, as DC's Executive Editor Dan DiDio explained: "Aquaman’s storyline picks up again in Blackest Night, and what happens following that is a key story beat of Blackest Night."

Scar discusses Lex Luthor and his place in the forthcoming Blackest Night crossover. The Guardian also makes mention of "another" that Luthor will have control over. The character to which she is referring is revealed using a picture of Conner Kent flying over Smallville. The only elaboration following the image of Conner is, "...But he is dead. And we control the dead. For once I bear witness to the book of the black, and I question what it shows me, the dead will save you, Luthor. From Brainiac. From Superman. And from yourself".

DC Zombies? Then maybe we could get a major company zombie crossover! DC Zombies vs Marvel Zombies!

Or DC apes! Although DC already has enough monkey characters IMO.

In DC apes, Gorilla Grodd is a kitten.

He'll be back as Firestorm eventually I'm sure.

This isn't a toy, but I'm assuming this is now the official Blackest Night thread, soooo ...

Here's the cover for Blackest Night: Superman #1.

I have a theory that Superman plays a BIG part in this series. I haven't seen it myself, but from Wynn's post above, it sounds like Scar may have had something to do with Superboy's return. Scar also has been watching Mon-El, in the pages of Superman.

Obviously Kal-L is a Black Lantern (we already knew), and now he's messing with Pa's corpse.

I'm willing to bet it crosses over with New Krypton, and that is where New Krypton will meet its fate - whether it's destroyed or just shrunk again, I dunno. But I think Blackest Night will be the cause of the NK's end. It will be the big catastrophe that establishes the level and severity of this threat.

^Brainy was behind Superboy's return. Conner is coming home in Adventure Comics.

Is he really messing with Jonathan's grave though? I mean, since when does superman need a shovel? Maybe somebody else is, and he "stopped by" for whatever reason.

It's just a cover art, the shovel is probably there just to inform readers that in this story Kal-L is unearthing Pa Kent's body.

From what I heard Alexander Luthor will also be a Black Lantern.

That's going to be one messed up looking corpse. If I remember right, half of his face was burned off with acid and then the Joker shot him in the face with a large gun. That will be extremely grotesque. And awesome.

So do you think they'll keep it like that, or will they change him somehow. Because I really want to see some awesomely grotesque Black Lanterns.
