The future of printed comic publishing, as far as I'm concerned. Individually, I'd hardly consider picking up Ms Marvel, Iron Fist, Ghost Rider, X-Men Legacy or Nova for more than a trial issue or two. Together, at a decent cover price, I'd get this every month without a second thought. It was the last copy in the store too, so a few people seem to agree with me on that score. If it's a sustainable project, I hope more of these collections appear.

Hey now, let's not get nasty! Does anyone know what I'm talking about here? Since there's been plenty of discussion over the future of comics in terms of format, I thought that Marvel publishing a 5.99 book containing five full issues, albeit reprints, was something resembling news. Nobody else seen this or picked it up?

I do remember Marvel doing something similar with the Ultimate books a while back, though I think it was only for the news-stand, and might've been magazine size. Is the one you saw maybe a UK-only deal?

There a lot of marvel stuff being re-printed over here in a newstand glossy cover format. Wolverine and Gambit was one, which I think then became Wolverine and Deadpool featuring Cable. and the Avengers with a New Avengers main storyline and a "classic" Avengers backup.

No, it's in Marvel's listings on their site. Response to the credit crunch using their critical rather than financial successes?

Yeah, thanks for that. What's with everyone? If I'd started a thread called Marvel Comics Presents, would you not think it was a comic? I assumed that people knew. My humble apologies.

NOOOOOO!

Don't say it a third time! Don't. Do. It!

As for collected $5.99 books, I'm all for it.

Put "Mighty, New and Initiative" in a book and call it "Avengers" and buy it for $5.99 a month.

See, now I notice it's not in the May solicitations. I hope that's just an oversight, because there are 5 books I want to keep reading there.

this is how i read my first few issues of kick-ass, but they only did it to get you on-board to reading the series regularly. but after reading 3 issues for $6, how could i go back t oreading 1 for $3?

pax romana was supposed to do the same thing with their 1st 2 issues, but it never came out. this is definitely a good way to keep well written, but under performing comics out there.

It's a great idea to attract readers.
