Any Robert Heinlein fans here? I just found my old copy of Tunnel in the Sky, which I hadn't read since middle school. I've only read a few of his other books: Starship Troopers, The Moon is a Harsh Mistress, and Stranger in a Strange Land.
Man, what a fun writer. The guy's imagination and perceptivity are fantastic. His works seem more exploratory than explanatory; he's just seeing where they'll go. In one book he extolls the virtues of a militaristic neostoic semi-fascist republic, in another he is just as enthusiastic about self-determination by the proletariat. And he always has interesting insights into morals, ethics, duty, and belief.
So, anyone wanna talk good old-fashioned sci-fi?
