For some reason, when I loaded my new computer with cs2, the brush with the pointed tail isn't available. Instead my first choice in brushes is the rounded tail. How do I get the pointed tail????

Try going to the brush-shape-tool-thingy and adjusting the shape dynamics.

Does anyone have a brush tip that's pointed that they can give me for cs2 pc?

It's nothing to do with the brush and everything to do with pressure sensitivity.

In the Brushes menu under Shape Dynamics there is an option for Size Jitter. Personally I set it to 0 to get an even brush stroke, but set the Control to Pen Pressure.

If that doesn't work then there's an issue with your Pressure Sensitivity settings and their compatibility with your new version of PS.

That said, didn't you say you use a mouse? If that's the case then I don't know how you got a flexible brush in the first place.

No, it's a wacom. Jitter is at 0 and it is on pen pressure.

Does pressure sensitivity work on any of the brushes?

yes, no prob. But my default shape is the round tip and not the pointed which I found odd. Loaded it on my friend's comp and it was pointed. I don't get this.

this is the tip I get:

this is the tip I want (kinda, but solid):

You said problems with the pen tool, but it sounds like you're talking about the brush tool. You do realize that the "point" is just a 1 pixel brush tip, right?

I made the pen mistake in the title but clarified in the first post.

I was just gonna go on about you being off but then realize what your talking about and am now slapping myself in the forehead..DUH! Thanks Mark, my good friend Mark.

If you haven't used a tablet much, I think pressure sensitivity is the thing that takes the most to get used to (and if it's a newer wacom that supports pen tilt, it ups the learning curve).

What model/size is it?

It's a standard graphire. It's not that I don't know it it's just that when my last computer fried I ended up not using it for a while. Forgot all about that setting. I have mine always set for sensistivty. When I feel crazy I go tilt.

So, is it working now?

If not, show me the Shape Dynamics palette from yours.

Here's how my brushes look;

I'll be painting tonight so I should be able to get some screen shots and test it out. Been avoiding the coloring because of a bump on my wrist.
