?
And you call yourself a "writer"? C'mon, man!! It's called a "re-imagine" for a reason. I know you can think of something.
I'm in...but if Chucko's son posts again, I'm out. I can't compete with that kinda talent, man. :)

Oh, I've thought of redesigns for all the X-Men. But I'd rather see all the talented artists here doing a character that hasn't been redesigned a hundred times.
It's funny because my design idea was pretty much exactly the design they used for Dakken, his son.

Can we keep this on topic?
No one forces anyone to participate in the draw-off. If you don't like the subject then move on, don't be a whiner.

Not whining. Just pointing out that since you've taken over the choosing of the draw-off subjects they haven't been all that inspiring.
But I'll move on, since I don't want you to close the thread or threaten to shut me down again...

I don't choose the topics. Lord Fejj does. I just post them. Feel free to take your whining to him, maybe he will be more sympathetic to someone who's never going to join in but always complain.

Hey didn't this guy turn up in wolverine #234? Anyways i have many ideas for reimagining wolverine the one i've chosen is giving me troubles though, here are a few of the other one's i was thinking about, to get you all inspired:
wolverine the barbarian, wolverine as a gladiator, wolverine as a midevil warrior, wolverine as a cyborg, wolverine as a leader of a mutant biker gang, wolverine as a vampire, wolverine as an alien creature from another world, wolverine as a hippy, hahaha. okay the last one was a joke, but there is a lot of ideas to choose fun. Sure it's a challenge, but this is a "draw off" it's supposed to be challenging.

These are great. Logan Griffen is awesome. He could have random fights with a sabertoothed chicken. (like the chicken in the show)
I started mine tonight and should be done with the inks soon. :)
This was kind of hard considering all the incarnations of wolverine there have been.

I know I probably shouldnt pipe in here and I will most likely get all kinds of flak over this posting but I just cant resist.
I have been watching all of these threads and have particpated in a few myself and I don't see why people find it so hard to "reimagine" Wolverine. Just give him a new costume and it will follow suite with the way this reimagine thread has went. Wolverine has had many costumes over the years, my personal favorite is the brown and gold, it shouldnt be that hard.
There have been a few pretty good reimagines on this thread but as a whole it seems to me that people are just dressing the characters differently and leaving the base character the same. I was always under the impression to "reimagine" something you should go in a completly different direction.
Ok, so I will give you an example of what I am thinking using Wolverine as inspiration. If I were going to participate in this thread here is the direction I would go in: Johnny Logan an all american football player for the University of Michigan has found his life turned upside down. His older brother was killed in the war and Johnny over compensated with the loss by dropping out of college and joining the Marines to reconnect a little with his dead brother. During basic trainining he was given "Wolverine" as a nickname by his drill instructor. This name stuck as he took it with him into battle. Now see the war through the eyes of a man on the ground. I am thinking a Sgt. Rock meets Flash Thompson character in a NAM type comic book.

Its kinda a Wolverine/ThunderCats Crazy offspring.
http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l315/ponch414/wolverine.jpg
Can we make suggestions about what to draw next?
Or we could make a "Wheel of Fortune" wheel, only instead of prices, we would have comic book caricatures.
Ok, so the construction would be a bit much.

i have to agree with this. there has been far more re-imaging then re-imagining going on. hopefully i can get at least a sketch done by the deadline for this one though. i've got a few ideas kicking around.

okay here we go.
James Howlett and his family moved from the US to canada during the gold rush. His father bought a nice plot of land in the north country. After arriving there, life was good for the Howlett family until Victor Creed and his posse of claim jumpers enter the scene. They kill James's family and leave him for dead but unfortunately james has a mutant healing factor that keeps him alive. James is found by an area indian tribe and they adopt him as one of their own. James earns the name Wolverine because of his ferocity when fighting. After growing to adulthood James wants to seek the head of Victor Creed, who has moved to Texas and has become a corrupt US marshel. So, James "Wolverine" Howlett searches the old west for Victor Creed and his posse known as "the brotherhood". This was kind of inspired by "The good, the bad and the ugly". I love the dollars movies.

-helmet designed by magneto and professor X to allowing logan push his bones/blades out of his body rather than just the ones found in his arms
-the suit aides his nerves dulling the pain that comes along with retracting and contracting his blades
-helmet also has the same technology as the Cerebro-giving logan the ability to hunt his enemies with his high senses along with the power to read his enemies mind

A long time ago
in a galaxy far, far away.......
The whole of the Republic trembled in fear as the Jedi Order was destroyed by the newest Sith Lord........Darth Wolverine.
If his large muscular body and traditional Sith tattoos weren't scary enough, Darth Wolverine is one of the galaxies most deadly fighters. After losing his forearms in a lightsaber duel with Jedi Master Hoth, Darth Wolverine had them replaced with cybornetic arms complete with three lightsaber "claws" in each hand. He is now the ultimate in intergalactical evil.

Here's an old picture Wolverine found of himself as a Captain of a pirate ship which dates to somewhere in the 19th century. "I was a Pirate once?! Cool"
He does have the retractatble bones claws here, but little did he know that the blade he carries is made out of adamantium. This sword is also the very source of adamantium that is bonded to his claws in the Weapon X experiment.

Don't blame Jamal for the topics, I am responsible. I would still like to hear ideas of what people would like as subject matter. I prefer really obscure characters, but I notice I get more participation when I do more popular characters. If you got an idea, send it to me! I love to see all the ideas and drawings everyone comes up with. The whole point is this should be fun!

I'm no writer, but here's my idea: She was orphaned as an infant, always had a bad attitude and kept to herself. When she discovered that she was a mutant, the other children in the orphanage singled her out and picked on her constantly. She developed "tough skin" and a decidely independent lifestyle. Unadopted at 18, she set out on her own with one thing on her mind: find her parents with the "X" pin and "Love, L & J" from the note left with her as a child.
That's all I've got. :D

DID I MAKE IT IN TIME?!?!?!?
Hope so :har: Here's my concept...sorry it's soooo horribly rushed and poorly executed, I just saw this thread 3o mins ago...
So my concept is that while assisting Doc Strange in one of his battles against..oh I dunno Satannish, Wolverine gets possessed by a demon, but thatnks to his regenerative powers constantly "fighting" the possession he is somewhat abble to retain his personality, however as the demon struggles for control of Wolverine's body it must push and pull to gain a foothold, altering Wolverine's physical pappearance somewhat...and he must stay this way till Doc S. finds a way to banish the demon without endangering Wolverine's own soul! Hope It's clear..hope the drawing pulls this off...

Here's my contribution to the Draw Off this week.
I thought Wolverine would be more interesting in more military gear and less spandex. This Wolvy doesn't have claws, but still has an ungodly healing factor and a love for cutting to the heart of the problem.
My idea is that he has become the hunter incarnate. Taking on more beastial aspects(including the overly long eyebrows hehe). He can track anyone down with his senses, including a biological equivilent of GPS.
Enjoy!

I went with Oninoko's because he was thinking outside of the box and Wolverine as a crazed carny just fits the personality.
