Nice Power Girl, by the way. She definitely looks like she wouldn't take any guff from anybody.

Nice Power Girl, by the way. She definitely looks like she wouldn't take any guff from anybody.
Thanks Newt, it's nice to be here.
I though Power Girl needed to look a little more formidable. Hence the mad max shoulder pad and stoic gaze.
I'd like to have spent a bit more time with it, but hey, it's just a design sketch.
Thanks for the welcome and the kind words.

Captainarian: You even quoted Skottichan's text explaining that pic was just a place holder. Did you read it?But reading requires TIME, Mowgli! Why would he want to read that humongous and confusing block of text when he could just make assumptions and pen off his own post based on that? ^_^ What's funny about that is that they're technically the same person. So yeah. Talk about self-love.Yeah, I'm doing a story playing with the concept. Summary line for posting will be "What do you do when your soulmate wears your own face?" or something along those lines. It's really not that dissimilar from a common crossover fanfic tactic of having two characters played by the same actor/actress meet and fall in love.

...oops! i just read it now,
but why in the world do we need place holders >_<A placeholder is a term, sign or some other thing which generally stands in the place of a term, etc., with a specific meaning.
In disciplines involving formal languages, particularly mathematics and logic, the placeholder concept is replaced by the more carefully defined concepts of free variables and bound variables. In computer science placeholders are sometimes referred to as metasyntactic variables.
In politics, a placeholder is sometimes used to indicate that a person is acting in a position on a non-permanent basis or as a proxy.

Here's my entry. I never really liked that in the comics that on Krypton Scientists were good and Soldiers were evil.
So I reworked Kara Zor-L to being more of a military/police officer vibe.
Yeah, I'll be reworking her all the way up to voting, I'm liking her, but not 100% yet.

an uhh... what happened to the other draw-offs. especially the Blitz, where you just had to draw characters in the most kick-ass pose, or have the best linework. Not everyone is good at recreating characters.. some of us guys and girls are just artists.
I would like to see someone continue the Blitz draw-offs along with the re-imaginings.

with a 24 hour dead line i'd rather watch movies than doing a crappy sketch art. the dead lines are stupid. i don't know what's so cool about it, we need a wekk for re-imagining wich is much harder so the artist can come up with a perfect plan, although 3 days is better than nothing,
3 days is good for the normal drawoffs,
and guess what, longer deadline= more participants.
it's not like we are sitting in a con sketching for fans in line and we need to hurry you know. :man:

I wonder if any contestants will do what has never been done with Power Girl since her inception. When Wally Wood designed her costume he made her both strong and sexy and every incarnation after his design
THIS ONE
http://welltuncares.files.wordpress.com/2006/10/oh-power-girl.gif
Has either made her a steroid muscled Vera De Milo looking creature or a Super Slut. I wish someone could do what Darwyn Cooke did with Catwoman, give her a costume that a "Woman" would design for herself especially the Princess heir of the DC universe, something elegant, practical, and classy.

Huh, and here I thought a body covering armor was practical. I love Mr Cooke's reconstruction of Selina Kyle's costume, but if you go over to DC's Message board, her current "Dominatrix" look is far from popular with the loudest minority.
Most importantly, I'm not entirely sure where you got that Mr Wood intended for her to be elegant, I mean, she's wearing a swimsuit with a keyhole top.
I like the more muscular/thick Kara Zor-L, just as much as I love the more muscular Wonder Woman, mostly because let's be honest here, every other superheroine has the EXACT same supermodel look. Most importantly, if she's going to have as big of breasts as most artists (including Mr Wood) she's going to need a bit of body for them to be part of, or she's going to keep looking like that horrid cover Michael Turner did.

I think she out to be buff, not quite bodybuilder type, but close, just not as ripped. I like her drawn more muscular and "thick" it makes her stand out and shows that you could never break her in half, which is the first thought I always get with the new supergirl, the huntress, black canary, etc. etc.
I like Alex Ross' Wonder Woman because she looks like a woman, a mature, very powerful woman, not a girl, and not a waif, nor a herione addict.
I just agreed with Skottie..imagine that...

I figure that her look should be the match of her personality, she's kind of a hard-ass (bad pun), and she has a kind of "time to get it done" thing goin on. I went with a more urban look, because she lives in the big city, but the hair, even though it's in braids, still harkens back to her farm girl roots (I'm familiar with the character, but not the continuity. She has always been linked to Supergirl)

and i think powergirl's costume is awesome so i won't rape her.
my only re-imagination would be this:
i always hated lois lane, so she's a whore.
power girl is the doughter of late clark kent (formly superman) and kara, (super girl), the supes married and gave birth to the little baby named after her mom kara, she became power girl later following the path of her parents as a super hero.

Power-Girl becomes purely good, while out comes this black version of her, purely evil & bent on destroying the "weaker" part of herself:

This is my attempt to make power girl look like a real person, sort of like a real person anyway. She holds herself with a certain confidence and had a cape. Other then that you wouldn’t know she was any more then human.

Power Girl often wondered why she just didn't get the respect that other super heroes get. She was super strong, super fast, all in all she was everything a super hero should be. Finally, after much contemplation, PG decided her problem was her chest...it was lacking an iconic symbol, like Superman's shield or Batman's bat - something that would represent who Power Girl really is...

So freaking SCARY. As a woman, it looks so fucking painful!
And her lips look stupid.
She just looks like a freakin joke.
And she writes on her info "no jokes please" and is all "please respect me" How can you expect respect when you obviously don't respect yourself and do that to yourself. Please.
