Yeah, my idea wasn't really a reinvention, mine was more of a creation. I present the crown princess, daughter of Blackbolt and his queen, Medusa.
Lady Redshear; she has her father's powers.

Thank you for the sweet comment.
Yeah, but now they're riding me for "distracting colors" and the like.
Don't really give two shits anymore. I did this for fun, and it will be my last. I'm going to focus on pencilling, I'm not a colorist. C'est la vie.
Oh and this will most likely be my last post, as I had always been looking for constructive criticism, but all I'm really getting from anyone anymore are snarky little comments.

Hey Skotti,
I for one really dig your art and understand that you are looking for constructive criticism. I know they haven't given you advice on how to fix it. but couldn't you also take the comment as being constructive?
One of my frustrations with this board is that few people will speak openly about exactly what they see wrong with a peice and keep telling people 'it rocks' but inside they know if that work was being published they wouldn't spend their hard earned money on it. Also, very few people who do point out problems bother to give advice on how the problem could be corrected.
All that said there are a few people willing to give constructive critiques. The reason it has become so rare is the reaction of some artists who think they are the shit, who just can't take criticism. As we saw recently on an upcoming marvel cover David Rivera posted.
I wouldn't give up on the board though, I'd just try to get closer to the people you know give in depth critiques and just ignore the A-holes who just want to make snide little comments with no effort in backing them up or explaining them.
I don't think the board would feel the same without you posting your art. You'll surely be missed.

See what happens, I join up and everyone leaves!
Well, Skotti, I hope you stick around. I would miss your artwork.
I agree with the poster above (sorry, illegal behavior gave me a lousy memory), I'm not sure the critisism was meant to be snarky, but you have every right to your feelings.
I hope you come back.
Of course, this would mean there's one less artist to get in my way of becoming the All-Being Omni-Artist of Digital Webbing!
I'm kidding, I'm kidding...

Skotti, stick around. It's been cool to put up art next to yours and your talent has always made me bring my A game. These have been great exercises.

Hey guys,
I barely had time to participate in this one... just a little bitof time to spare over the past two days so it was kinda rushed... especially the colors, but I'm no colorist anywho.
I went with the obvious choice for Medusa.
Skotti, I know I am a faceless wanderer of this site and rarely comment and have yet to give any crits on anyones artwork, but I would like to say that I thuroughly enjoy all of your posts from sketches to colorings and you will be greatly missed if you stop posting. You are one of the few that have found your own personal style and I for one am always in awe of your talent. If it means anything please continue posting and simply ignore the "snarky" comments. (I'm going to look up the word snarky as soon as I finish here.)
Heres what I got if its not too late...

Skottichan- That's a real shame, I haven't been on the forum long but I've really been enjoying looking at your work and seeing the improvements, I was just about to comment that this is one of my favourite of your pieces. Its very sad to hear that you have been posting looking for guidance and have been getting petty replies instead. Of course, I don't expect that you should keep posting because I would think it a shame, but if you do I will definitely give you constructive criticism. Incidentally, you may not consider yourself a colourist, but it seems to me that your colouring has been getting really good lately and this piece is an example of that. But yeah, I'm a penciller too so I see why you might not want to spend precious drawing time colouring when drawing's your thing. Anyway, I hope you're not completely disillusioned because I'm sure (or at least hope) there's alot of people who aren't interested in heckling you and would miss your posts like me.

So many thoughts...heh...thanks for the confidence vote!
And leave fejj alone...without competition from the likes of skottichan and madatom13, I'd always win...it's good to be a loser sometimes, helps build character...
...wait...
Great stuff tho you all!

Wow, I didn't know I got that much vote. A lot better than I expected for a very rough sketch, really!:D I thank you all. I was planning to draw a much better version of it but it's been a stressful week at work and I'm still too depressed to draw :( Maybe I'll just post them in Artist Showcase later on. Much later, probably.
Anyway, keep the spirit up you guys! For Skottichan especially.
