If you're in the DC/Baltimore area and want to meet Yours Truly, get a copy of FoJ #1 and share in some snacks and drinks (and maybe win a prize or two), then come on out to Beyond Comics in Frederick, Maryland on February 8th between 5 and 8pm for the Official Fist of Justice Launch Party!

Drop me a line for more info/directions.

(Ed, feel free to cross-post this into whatever forums it would apply to).

You've got time to get airline tickets!

I'll even show you around some of the Civil War battlefields in the area. We're stupid full of them here.

And no, not THAT Civil War! :p

Eh, well... I was kind of inferring that YOU had time to BUY tickets. I thought everyone that lived outside of the states DREAMED of coming here? :p

Just giving this a BUMP since Friday is a few scant days away. I expect to see all you DC/Balto. area DWers up in Frederick! I may even have something special for folks who are from the boards. I'm not promising anything, but you never know... :whistlin:

I was there, last May in fact. Now it's time for you to buy... :p

Anyway, all the best for a successful launch. I'm sure it'll be a super event.

Got an email from Mike saying the launch party was wild and lots of Fist of Justice comics (current issue and many back issues) went out the door. If he keeps this up, I see FOJ sticking around for a long, long while.

I'll tell yah, it's the power of push. FOJ #1 sold over 50 copies in Mike's store BEFORE the launch party. I'm pretty impressed by that. Now he gets to do it all over again April when the second issue hits. ;)

It no doubt helps to have the writer/creator right there in the store. Also helps when the comic is world class, as it is here. Congrats to all for this well deserved success :D

There were quite a few people that came solely because they saw the writeup(s) in the local newspapers, so I can't emphasis how important that is for other indie creators to capitalize on. A simple press release can do wonders.

For refreshments I had milk and cookies and that was a hit as well. What's better than eating a testy chocolate chip cookie, drinking a glass of ice cold milk and flipping through some comics? Not much, I'll tell ya'!

All in all it was a success.
