I really love the rough but the finished inks just rob the action out of the page. I think some well placed action lines to break up the solid blacks would give back some movement.

Also that bottom panel looks great in the rough but in the inked version the girl doing the uppercut is all blacked out and it just looses all the good (even if it is tiny) linework. Theres enough black on the guy flying towards us that the girl doesn't need to be blacked out. I would leave her with the basic linework to create contrast between blacks and whites.

Small stuff that makes all the difference in the world. I've said it before but Kong there's so much improvement I see in your work each time you post. Keep going dude, your stuff is great! ;)

Kong, this is pretty cool. The only thing I don't like is how the first 2 panels 'bleed' into each other. I think a definite seperation between the two would have helped the storytelling.

Hey Kong,

I really like the way your art is progressing, you've improved a hell of a lot the past year or so and it's really paying off man. Really enjoying checking out your posts. But I do have a criticism with the storytelling on this page.

The collage of the action works well, but the seperate panel on the left really doesn't work. You've already pulled us into the last panel because the womans arm and head is above the panel on the left. So the reader gets pulled diagonally through the page top left to bottom right completely skipping past the seperate panel bottom left.

I really dig the action, even looks a little bit like you've been checking out Mark Robinsons awesome stuff.

Also, I don't want to sound too harsh, but the guy in panel 1 is rushed, it would have looked better if you spent a little time referencing the gun.

I really hope you post more soon.

thanks for the input guys. In panel 1 it's a briefcase not a gun... but the pages leading up to this page he's running with a briefcase that contains a micro chip... Anyways yea this pge got a bit away from me. And the scan.. Well I pushed the black levels to high in photoshop... So it looks much heavier handed than it actually is. Anyways yea I gotta work on my speed lines.. I think I'll probably black out all of panel 1. And hopefully will post some more pages very soon. I'm in the process of working about 10 pages all together to make it 31 for this book. I should finish up here in a week or two. Alot of good ideas to contemplate.

sorry about mistaking the briefcase :( I see it now. originally I thought it was a gun barrel and the trigger guard poking from the edge of the page.

Good example of watching cropping!
( I thought it was a gun also!) :whistlin:

Well if you thought it was a gun I'm the one who should be sorry.

*Revives with a Phoenix Down*

 I wish I saw this earlier. This is fantastic, dude!!

If it's anything, I would like to see your work have more of a dynamic feel i.e. panel style, camera placements, and such. I think you should experiment with that kind of style. Your artwork seems the type it can have that visceral feel.

I would like to see more of your progress on this project. Keep'em coming.
