OK I've been told by a couple of people this is a great book and I'm going to go ahead and get me some. I found a site called instocktrades.com that has the graphic novels for under 10 bucks. I heard the first one isn't as good as later stories, should I start from the beginning or pick up trades 2 or 3 etc?

They are under 10 bucks so it's not a huge investment if the first one isn't great but I don't want to waste my time reading them if they're not worth it.

I also don't want to be lost storywise so the first issues may be essential.

I'M COLLECTING THE ULTIMATE COLLECTIONS, each contain 13 issues with a lot of goodies in'em, by those.

I might get the ultimate collections too, they're 22.74 http://www.instocktrades.com/product.aspx?id=9&pid=2903 on here and the smaller editions have only 4 issues.

But I'm sold, I've heard too much good stuff about them now.
