BLITZ! Draw-Off 21

This week's subject is one of the first team books that I loved reading in the early 90's...draw any combination of The New Warriors! That means you can draw your favorite characters (Past or Present) or the whole team, but you don't have to. Make a note, I said New Warriors, so you have to include more than one.

Deadline is tomorrow, 11.29.07, 11:59CT. Any entries edited after the deadline will result in a disqualification.

This one sounds cool. I still have issue 1-30. Bagged and tagged. I Loved the Sphinx series.... The God Horus was a badass.... took out Wolverine too... heheh.

So I thought I would give this one a shot... I hate to admit this... but I know nothing about this book or characters. I know I know I should be destroyed. I looked online and found these three... Night Thrasher, Namorita, and Penance.
I will have to go and check this title out though...

Embrace it! Speedball is m favorite character; he's the reason I got into NW, the only reason I bought the "League of Losers" Marvel Team-Up, and I have all ten of his original (and only) series. :p

Seriously though, he's a great character, pure Ditko at his best - quirky, creative, and human.

Until he became Penance...if nothing else, the one thing I want to do in the comic field is get rid of that!

And atom - great job! The whole thing is great, but that Night Thrasher is awesome, a nice amalgamation of his different costumes. Excellent! If you need any reasons to pick up New Warriors (particularly vol. 1), I'm full of 'em, just ask!

WTF!!!! Penance is Speedball!??!

I have most of the original run of New Warriors. Thought it was a great title and still do. I haven't collected for a few years and have none of the new series. How in the name of H-E-double-hockey-sticks did the bouncing dorko turn into a reject from Doom3!?!?! That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard.

I like the Penance character, one of the most out there superheroes yet. Nice drawing Atom, not a huge fan of your faces, but your detailing is superb.

That's great! Firestar is probably my favorite, and I really like what you did with Speedy's costume. Justice looks good; the only suggestion I have (and I could be wrong) is that the head looks a little small. But maybe it's just me. I think the "scruffy" look you gave him is great; one of my favorite story lines is Vance in jail and him just after getting released, and this is what that reminds me of. I like it a lot.

Sigh. I don't know why I even started this, I've never even heard of the characters, but I really liked the fat dude. I actually really like drawing fat people, what does that say about me?

Speedball was always my favorite!
All I had time for was a quick sketch, but I couldn't resist reuniting the duo of Speedball & Rage. Robbie and Elvin getting in and out of trouble made for some great NW moments.
I didn't have any referances with me, so I went classic Speedball suit (as best I could remember) and I think I got Rage's NW-era costume close-ish.
