The contest is simple. You must pick one character from either the current or previous version of the Justice League of America and redesign them to fit the Elseworld settings listed below. People will then vote on the best character designs!
The first world Elseworld setting is:
Sword and sorcery. Basically, if the Justice League looked like characters out of a Frank Frezetta painting.

The deadline is tomorrow, 10-20-2007 at 11:59 PM Central time. Anyone posting after this time or editing after this time will be disqualified.

And as for my David Drawing?...can you prove I used the cover?...It just so happens that I am a FAN of the movie and know what David looks like...If I wanted to swipe the cover I would have most def' made it more spot-on than what i had done...I just don't know why you cannot say I was right..oh well.

mike i think this is why wisper copied the pose and feel of a frazetta painting.
i looked up sword and sorcery, and wiki says it is a subgenre for fantasy.
so which is it? do we copy frazetta's paintings and incorporate justice leaugers in it or do we have the jla just do the medieval thing? :blink:

I didn't write up that description of the draw off, I just copied/pasted. Nope, not telling anyone to swipe, I believe that Benel used the Frazetta part because that's what he's known for.
Midieval Justice League, that's my understanding.

Wow! Good influx of work.
Cleaning a few things up about the phrasing of the Draw-off. Mike is right. When I said " ...like a Frank Frezetta painting ", I wasn't actually talking about a swipe or homage of Frezetta's work with League characters. I was just trying to put the image in people's mind as to what to expect. I didn't want to just say " Midevel " because sword and sorcery can take up so many different historical styles, like Japanese Feudalism, Viking Nordic myth or Native American tradition, though European Feudalism is the most popular. I wanted all the artist to have as much freedom as possible in the genre choice. Next time, if we get a next time, I'll make what I'd like to see more clearer in the post.

In my defence, my batman ha a hood instead of a cowl fury briefs and medieval boots and his cape is attached by a chain around his neck and his utility belt is different and if it was in colour, witch it isn’t, you would be able to see not a trace a grey costume but his bat skin.
Somehow despite all this it dose actually look like batman with a sword, that’s one of the reasons I was a bit disappointed.

Shep, your Hawkgirl is magnificent. It's just a great drawing. One of the things I like about it is that it doesn't try to be so slick, there's a lot of suggestion used in the drawing, something I like. I think a lot of today's artists try to be so precise and perfect with their art. To me, this is perfect.
Well, I missed this one altogether. Will this be an ongoing contest, like the BLITZ?
