So, anybody get the new Radiohead album? I bought it for a bargain price. I feel like I should have given them more, but they'd understand.

Loink! (http://www.inrainbows.com/Store/Quickindex.html)

So far, I love Bodysnatchers and Faust Arp. Better initial reaction than 'Hail to the Thief' anyway.

I believe I've made my feelings about Radiohead abundently clear in the past.

Weird...that sentence came out in an Australian accent in my head.

I can't be arsed to search all your posts. Don't tell me, you have issues with lazy-eyed, bobble-headed ginger whackjobs?

I'm just being a smart-ass...no offense meant.

I have a problem in general with what I call "Important Rock"...especially when the band has a habit of telling the world how great they are.

My band is much better than Radiohead. Or U2. And pretty much anything is better than Oasis.

could be worse... like if it was Werner Klemperer

My favorite incident was the band Fastball.

Remember them? No, no you probably don't.

They tried that, "we're the only band putting out good music right now" shit...and my God were they bland. :yuk:

I could be wrong, but Radiohead seem to have been put on a pedestal by their fans rather than their own hype. The media in the UK certainly helped, treating them like the second coming. Over here, it's ridiculous the admiration they get.

U2... yeah, Bono could save the world by shutting up for 10 minutes. And Oasis deserve nothing less than an eternity in a pit full of cat vomit with only Neal Adams for company.

Mostly...but I do recall...whatshisname...Tom Yorke(?) saying at one point that his band was really the only worthwhile thing out there...this was soemtime in the 90s.

And frankly, OK Computer made me want to go on a Manson Family type killing spree to make the bad feelings stop!

This is why I made a dumbass comment and then poked some fun at Frank instead of actually saying something.

You dig 'em. That's cool. Enjoy...my opinion doesn't matter.

Fastball.....Fastball.....jangly late-90's guitar pop? I think I remember them. Goofy-looking singer? One hit? Yeah. They WERE the greatest.

Mike225
10-10-2007, 05:58 PM
The song was catchy...the album had a few more good songs on it, too. Never would call them the greatest, though.

As I implied earlier, MY band is the greatest rock'n'roll act ever. There's no need to wonder any longer.

Van Halen Rulez!

No and no. I was referring to my imaginary band, PAINBOW! Hell yeah!

Actually, OK Computer reminds me of when I went a little insane and couldn't turn off Minesweeper all night. The whole record just replayed and replayed. It probably explains a few things in my life!

And my band was by far the coolest band on the planet for our brief 3 year existence. We pillaged Bravestarr for an EP title. That's cool, right?

You're thinking of Buckyrig's imaginary band, Spazmataz 3. They suck.

Eddie invented fingertapping!

All metal flows from his sweaty ballz!

Bow ingrate, bow!

I played Sax with System of a Down when they were still a ska outfit.

Newt

Metal had already happened when Eddy was still in Mammoth. Whatever flowed from his balls and inspired half the shitty music of the eighties, it was not metal, fingertapping or no.

One of the coaches at my high school claimed he was a member of the Sunshine Band before they hit it big. Surely no one would claim such a thing if it weren't true.

My brother was friends with the guitar player from Glassjaw in elementary school.

I totally agree. I've been a fan of theirs since The Bends (seriously, Pablo Honey sounds like a college band record from some group in Michigan), and I've been hooked on their music ever since. Their progression from album to album is what always gets me hooked into checking out their new releases. I'll have to check this one out soon.

Yeah I know. There was an e-mail I received from a friend saying the same thing, just haven't gotten around to it yet. Stuck at work now, will have to do it later. Thanks for the reminder!

Lostprophets used to play in my local pub, yeah okay they suck but they're still a pretty big deal.
There's another guy that plays round here, word on the street he's been shortlisted for some music channel appearance, I hope he succeeds cause his music rocks.

I worked at a summer camp with a guy who was a drummer in a band who used to tour with Lost Prophets before they were famous.

Small, yet incredibly dull, world.

I believe you are mistaken. While the hype machine will say that often, Thom Yorke never has, and probably never will.

No. It was more a matter of omission, I'll admit. But when you're promoting an album and you also state that there isn't any good music being produced...well, what's that supposed to mean? It may not have been Yorke...do the other guys speak?

The documentary "Meeting people is easy" would prove your memory wrong, sir.

So...watching a documentary where he doesn't say something proves he has never and would never say it?

I would like to say that I do respect the experiment they're conducting here with the choose-a-price download. Doesn't seem to be hurting them. Apparently, the average they're getting is $8.00 (I assume American).

That's significantly more than I paid.

They should have at least previewed tracks so you knew how much it's worth to you.
