last night i was trying to draw my favorite self created superfemale: "LADY ARIAN", IT'D been a long time since i had drawn anything related to my arian comics and the bitch hit me in the brain... i couldn't lay out her eyes, and i was begining to cry, i couldn't draw my own best female character... i couldn't draw my imaginary comic girl friend.... oooh god! it was horrible, it turned my stomach, i went to bed like a wet hen
(or a dog with out bone), frustrated and sad, the frustration was so bad that it made one of my best dreams and experiences...

the dream began:
i was in a comicon, i believe it was sandiego, cuz it was very big and very crowded, every one was doing the usual things they do in conventions, i was walking and suddenly i stpoped and began crying, man! i was crying like a little baby, and tears fell from eyes and nose like a river, then i heard a warm voice:
-" what's wrong ? why are you crying?"
i couldn't answer, i turned around and saw stan lee before me, not that i was so fuckin exited to jump to him and snap his neck out of love like i would in real life if i had seen him, i just stared at him, then he put his arms on my shoulder and asked me to follow him,

THIS IS NOT A RAPE STORY FOR HEAVEN'S SAKE!

he guided me to his private booth and closed the doors behind him and pointed me the chair:

-sit down... what's wrong?
- i... i can't draw my own characters, i'm not worth anytihng, what kind of an artist am i gonna be when i can't even draw my own characters? how can my dream of breaking into industry ever come true?

he gave one of those famous smiles of him and began talking to me about some nonesense stuff that wasn't related to my problem,

-see kid, we have many characters in the universe, take marvel universe for example, we have multiple versions of one character, we have wolverine with bone claws, we have wolverin with no claws, we have wolverine with straght claws, we have wloverine with bent claws, we have different kinds of daredevils, x-men, spider men, iron men...
the artist chooses to do what ever of these characters he wants to when he does the comic, he picks the one he loves...

(i don't know what the hell did he mean by that) then came out the words that really charged me:

-IT'S IMPORTANT TO HAVE A MIND TO DRAW SOMETHING, BUT WHAT'S MORE IMPORTANT IS TO HAVE A MIND TO CREATE SOMETHING.

then i woke up, i think this was a very happy moment, i memorized his words and started drawing and now it's working, cuz i'm no more worried about anything, i have the mind to create... the rest... they'll just come around with practice and concentration...

haha! so i had my own private chat with Stan the man, a chance in a life time, cuz i know i'll never meet him in real life but i met him in my dream, and it worked, any comic fans who wish to see a big comic guy in their dreams?
STan came to me, maybe jim lee will come next :D
just thought i share my dream with you and make some people happy who feel like my last night.

:D

did he speak to you in english? I wonder if Dream Stan is more powerful than real Stan. Like Ben Kenobi who was more powerful after he was killed by Darth Vader.
It would be cool if Dream Stan was multi-lingual.

Did he really become more powerful, or did he say that thinking Vader would not kill him.

I think your dreams are only gay because this quote only leads to one reasonable solution...

it's not that there aren't gays, they just kill them all. CNN says so. the gospel 24/7. :har:

i actually met Stan in real life and had the most bizarre discussion with him. Seattle, early 90s. he was signing my copy of Silver Surfer Requiem and he stopped and asked me what my favorite character was. so of course being an absolute moron, i said "The Flash!" he laughed and he said "you know i always liked that guy, and i totally ripped him with Quicksilver." and i mentioned that i like Quicksilver but the Flash had better duds, and he thought that was really funny, and we just went on and on about different characters and how much he really liked various ones. what i thought pretty funny was, the character he liked least...Dr. Strange. he didn't really enjoy all the dark mystical arts junk. he said he far preferred the light hearted Spiderman stuff. but talk about a down to earth nice guy! what kinda freaked me out was that there was no one else around trying to get his signature. we could have talked all day.

oh and on the Obi wan thing...other than floating around trying to rationalize lying to Luke pretty much every time he opened his mouth while he was alive, i can't see much in the way of him becoming more powerful. hell the dude didn't even impart any secret cool Jedi technique after he died. he just guilt tripped Yoda into training Luke, which in turn probably shortened poor Yoda's life as well. i'm telling you, don't hate Jar Jar. hate Obi Wan! and he killed Maul on a fluke!

Didn't Silver Surfer Requiem just come out?

Btw, Obi Wan knew he couldn't train Luke any further, but his dying was the only way to get Luke (whiny, lazy pansy ass that he was) to go to Dagobah.

And btw, the dream means that both Bucky and Dag are gay.

wasn't the Mobius /Stan Lee Surfer book called requiem? hell i could be wrong about the title. that sounded right but i haven't pulled it out of the box in years, so it might be called something else....Parable! not requiem. google rules.

ok...now how does his dying serve to get Luke to dagobah? i mean Luke would have gone anywhere the old pedophile wanted him to go at that point. he was a starry eyed kid with delusions of grandeur. all Ben had to say was "hey lets go to Dagobah. sounds like fun this time of year." and Luke would have booked the flight! i think it's more that the old coot finally got in the way of a Sith lord he couldn't trick or beat fair and square and he took the easy way out.

Parable.

Biofungus

Well, first off, Luke only had room for one person, secondly, he wouldn't have gone to Dagobah by himself if Ben was still alive. Plus, I think Luke kinda leaned on Obi Wan a bit too much, anyway. Also, Luke needed more impetus to dislike Vader, and since he was hung up on the old man, it was the best way to do it.

he needed more reason to hate Vader than the fact that Vader "killed his father"? come on. no one in the Star Wars universe liked Ben that much. even Luke's mom. Luke had enough hate and anger towards Vader to make a hundred Sith. Ben just wanted to be the martyr out of his own ate up guilt at getting several thousand Jedi killed through both his inept training techniques, his lack of attention to his young padawan, and his inability to finish the kill when he had the chance! the dude gave the galaxy a good 20 years of pure terror due to pure weakness.
