It's true. POPCORN is gone (http://www.latimes.com/business/la-fi-lazarus29aug29,0,2466396,full.column?coll=la-home-center)

My power when out yesterday, so naturally when it eventually came back on, I tried to call P-O-P-C-O-R-N to get the current time to reset my clocks, and the speaking time voice was no more!

POPCORN was the "time of day" number all of us Northern Cali folk could call 24/7 if you needed to know the time. Her recorded voice had been there all my life. I'm sure it doesn't mean much to you non-Nor Cal's...but I'm bummed

Wow, I'm sad, we used to play with this when we were kids.

We did too. Any excuse to call her was fun. I was always fascinated by her strange voice.

I thought you meant actual popcorn for a sec.
Thank god.

Is this like when they discontinued the 976 sex numbers?

When you was a kid, that was some cool stuff.

*sniff* *sniff* miss those numbers. :(
