It's official, Impact will be on air from 9-11 starting I believe October 4th. I know someone talked about whether this would be a good or bad thing in another thread, so I thought it would be an interesting discussion.
Given the recent storylines in TNA, do you guys think the 2-hour jump is going to extend the wrestling or make them more like WWE in terms of 85% of the show being skits and mic work?
I personally hope this opens the doors to them bringing in more talent to put on some really great matches. Like get Amazing Red back and various other performers like that.

I kind of think that they're floundering now, so I don't know if going to 2 hours is going to help. Certain segments rock, others are just fart filled balloons.

It is a true crime what they have done to A.J. Styles.

That I agree with completely, 100%!! He is one of their absolute best wrestlers, and they've made him nothing more than a 3rd string comic relief guy. It's a shame.
I watched the last PPV, though, and I have to say most of the matches were pretty good. Styles was part of a tag team gauntlet match and he started it and won the final pinfall, so he was almost back to his old self in that match.
Kaz and Rude put on quite a show as well.
Jay Lethal vs Kurt Angle was highly impressive and much better than I thought it would be.
If they use the two hours to focus more on the X Division more I think it could prove successful. If Christian and Angle continue their skits and so forth becoming basically TNA's Triple H then I think it will be a huge mistake.

just look at the last 6 months...they fired alot of X Division wrestlers and took a lot of them off tv... they keep hiring big size guys..

But they also brought back Triple X and Petey Williams (who was in the gauntlet match at the PPV) and have pushed Kaz and Jay Lethal pretty hard in recent weeks.
That said, I wonder if Booker T will make the jump since he reportedly quit the WWE?

Man I love TNA but they are starting to be more like the wwe... Ironically alot of x-wwe stars are jumping there. Which kind of have been a shame I love this guys but they pot the actual TNA roster on the back sit which I think is not fair at all. And for what Ratings? as if they could not get it on pure wrestling as they always had before.
It should have been something like a split maybe...where they match up the new guys with the veterans that help made that place. I mean what the hell did they do to Aj??? that's not the AJ I saw when I was first introduced. Why is fallen angel still on the x division he should be kicking the hell out of angle and sting all all of them. And why they keep holding back Joe??? Robert rude is all so another favorite...
I did love that Judas masias is on TNA now ( AKA the Mexican wrestling equivalent of HHH hah) Although I like cibernetico better, his former nemesis.

I think a perfect scenario would be to use the extra time to bring the X Division back to the forefront.
I agree about AJ,... the guy is literally Phenomenal. The same thought applies to Petey Williams.
I'd heard they were gonna drop the X Division too, but am under the impression the nixed the idea by allowing Black Machismo a clean pin over Kurt Angle.

Well, the way Dixie Carter talked about the brand really encouraged me for the future of TNA:

I'm glad they are finally moving to two hours. The one hour format has given TNA a slow death for awhile. I really haven't watched a whole lot in the past year, yet I kept tabs.
As long as this expansion brings back the X-Division to form, not the randomness or plain dismissal it's been for over a year. And not become an expansion of the Kurt & Karen Angle show.
One thing that disappointed me about the Carter interview there was how they constantly called the video game a "fighting" game. Considering Midway's last "wrestling" game was a Mortal Kombat hybrid, my hopes for this being a game to force THQ to raise their standards are lowering.

I get your concern, but technically aren't wrestling games in the fighting category?
I'm really looking forward to seeing how the game utilizes the six-sided ring.
