Bet you all thought I forgot about this, didn't ya's? Well, I did :laugh:

So I'm going to make this week's draw off a simpler subject:

DRAGON!

Yep, a good ol' knight-crunching, dice rolling, nerds on a saturday night, dragon!

Deadline is Friday, August 17th, 11:59pm est (yes, that does give you an extra half a day).

can anyone participate in a draw off? I watch these forums monday through friday but i usualy dont say much. Is there a group you have to join to post on draw off threads or do you just upload your art? :blink:

The Blitz draw-offs are open to all. In case you haven't caught it, art has to be uploaded to an image host like imageshack.com or photobucket.com, then paste the [IMG] code in your post. Good luck!

Is it just me or is everybody not taking these draw-offs as seriously anymore?.

I think it's mainly because last week was the first time we didn't have one in close to 3 months (including Vaderfest 2007), so I think it might just take a week or two to get back into the swing of things. Of course, I still have to keep the subjects appealing also, so picking a fairly open subject after a bye week probably didn't help :)

I'll get my dragon drawing in later today before the deadline.

But Bio, I think a way to be more appealing with the subject is to make it more specific.. specific enough that everyone is doing relatively the same thing.. but not specific enough to get the different styles, and different figures and feels to the art. Instead of a "Dragon" :yawn: something like.. "a Dragon in a battle with an army of knights" :cool: . Then we could get more spice and variety.

I woulda PMed this message, but I put it out publicly, to see if anyone agrees with me.

I wanna get back into these blitze's really, really bad. But work has me bogged down right now. Been that way for a while now. I have to finish 2 paintings and waaaaay to many designs to count.

As soon as it's all done, I'm gonna thrw down hard on these things. I see them as a way to get better. Lately though, I haven't had the time.

You're missing the point of the blitz drawoffs then. The main goal of them is to break you away from that work monotony even if just for a half hour sketch ;)
