View Full Version : A question for the true Marvel addicts...

Hi all,

I have been skipping the whole Civil War storyline from the start... My idea was : too many issues, too many subplots and way too much back-issue-hunt for the simple hope of a coherent reading experience. In the end, anyways, I told myself I could just grap the trade paperbacks and read the full, gapless story. But it seems it's not that simple neither...
There are so many supblots and titles mixing into one another that I just don't know what to read in what order ('Initiative'?, 'Road to...','War Crimes'?, 'Frontline'?, 'X-Men:Civil War?', 'Fantastic Four:Civil War', 'Power Pack:Civil War'? ... So, here is my question (you can take it as a personnal challenge) :

Who is the ultimate Marvel fan out there capable of listing EVERY Civil War trade paperpack in a contnuity-friendly order? Can you go as far back as the House of M trades, and include that storyline also? How far back can you pick up the Marvel Universe converging storyline in trade paperback format?

I am sure I am not the only part-time Marvel fan that such a list would help...

So, who? up to the challenge?

Thanks and good luck!

Olivier

Wow, that's an extensive answer... Thanks a lot!

So that's the exact order in which I should read them all? If so, what kind of artwork should draw for you? (I was quite serious).

You should read them cocurrently since they were released in that fashion, they all came at roughly the same time. Do yourself a favor and stick to the few core books... Civil War and Captain America. Frontlines was pretty good too, but for the most part, the brunt of the story and most of the quality is in those two main books. If you're a spidey fan, check out that book too, but it could have been better... though the unmasking is a major moment, whether some people like it or not.

I'd suggest reading Harry Potter instead.

It has more deaths, plus the ending is much better.

Just buy the 'Civil War Chronicles' comic. It's doing exactly what you want.
