I'm a little jealous that I didn't get TMNT, Liberty Meadows, or Hellboy. I don't know much about Tellos, but it looks like something I can have a lot of fun with. Excellent choices Jamal.

No teams, this is a competition and because of the number of participants, you compete within a group. The people with the top votes in each group moves on tot he next round. Check out the Rounds from last year tournament for a better understanding.

Since a few people don't seem to know the background behind "Strangers in Paradise", here are the basics:

David ended up falling in love with Katina (Katchoo) when she was a prostitute. David's sister was Katina's boss and lover at the time. Katina eventually left the business, but was still harassed by David's sister until her death (and after his sister's death by her employees). David inherited millions, and eventually asked Katina to marry him. Please realize, this was in a book that was talking about future events, so it may not be in a lot of the books (plus I haven't been buying them the past year).

Katina loved David, but was in love with Francine. Yeah, she was bisexual. She tried to make it work with David, because Francine got married to a jerk. Francine had a kid, gained weight, and kept on telling her mother she wanted to go "home", of course by "home" she meant Katina. Katina wasn't in touch with her for years, in large part because of Francine's mother. Her mother finally gave in and contacted Katina. Okay, that's the basic of what I know. If you want to know more, go to the site:

http://www.strangersinparadise.com/characters.html

Basically, Katina was madly in love with Francine, and only loved David. But you should do more research by going to the site. At this point you don't even need Google.

I'm disappointed by Moore's last cover of "Strangers in Paradise", because very often his covers were beautiful. You should check out all of them before finishing yours, good luck. :)

ljamal, I know this is a long post so you can move it to another thread if you like.

Thanks, i was just looking at the description posted on the actual group 9 thread, and it didn't mention it has to be a cover. Lucky for me i'm only good enough to draw pin-up style images anyways, so it's set up as a cover by default.

I'm afraid I'm going to have to bow out as well. All of my excess time and energy has been spent preparing for my wedding this Sunday, and I thought foolishly that I'd be able to sneak some time to participate in this. I've barely had time to sleep, much less sit at my drawing table.

Good luck to everybody, and I'll be sure to check in and vote next week. Maybe once I've recovered I'll actually be able to draw/post more... :)

I've got troubles too. My image is coming along nicely, however I can't get my stinkin' scanner to sync up! :man: Hours spent reinstalling software and smashing my head off the keyboard isn't helping get the art done. Will have to marathon the evening and go to the office depot to get a scan. Should make it in on time but it burns my ass to have to pay for a scan with an A3 scanner sitting right beside me. @$!**&%#$!!!!
