That "blockhead" is the Anti-Monitor, the big villain from the original Crisis on Infinite Earths.

The surprise member he means, I would assume, is Parallax.

Seems like a big deal that is lost in the mix. Between Flashes coming and going, Amazons attacking, GA & BC tying the knot and Countdown stuff, this Sinestro stuff has been pretty low key.

Actually, with most of DC's top guys and gals involved with everything, what are the main two (Bats & Supes) doing? Sitting on their hands watching the world go by?

Odd, why aren't they called The Parallax Corps? I thought Sinestro bow to Parallax, yet he made his corps from his own image.

A really cool story with a great ending... except...

Kyle plays a HUGE part in Countdown. Kyle is one of several DCU characters that "shouldn't exist" in the proper DC Universe. He's even featured in a special Countdown One-Shot in September.

If he's evil now, how is this all going to play out? My best guess is either there's another Kyle (since we're dealing with the multi-verse) or he's taken out of the game really quickly.

Is it Kyle that shouldn't exist or is it the Power Ion he carries that shouldn't be in this Universe? Kyle's always been my favorite GL, but i don't recall anything that should make him NOT be here.

All the heroes created after the original Crisis should have come from Earth 8. This includes Donna Troy, Breach, Jason Todd, and others.

Ion in the GL equivilant of Paralax... the living force of willpower in the universe and a way to empower GL's without a ring or central battery.

But why did Sinestro replace the Ion entity and put Parallax in instead of finding another host? Is it only to eliminate the competition and cripple the GL Corps or the entities need someone as special as Kyle to live in? You know, people that shouldn't exist.

Hey, it could be interesting if all the Earth 8 characters got their own entity. Kyle get Ion, Jason Todd should have been Parallax (though I guess in the continuity he's not even as intimidating enough to wear a Sinestro ring), and Donna Troy with a Star Sapphire entity.

Ion is the most powerful being in the universe, so they got rid of him and levelled the playing field. That Sinestro's a big smartiepants.
