SO, who's your favourite comic book artist? Just want to say,, go ahead and include more than one, but, see if you can't at least keep it to one per category, y'know, inker, penciler, colourist, painter.
Personally, my favourite has been Lee Bermejo for a while now, but he sure doesn't put much out except for covers, which I'm guessing he must make tons doin'. Favourite painter I think is that Dell Otto character, though there are some close runner-ups.

It's always a toss up between Jack Kirby and Will Eisner for me, I guess it will perpetually be, I don't think any modern artist can ever top them in my mind.
Right this minute it's Kirby, but only because of the Challengers of the Unknown showcase that I seem to keep beside me at all times.

Jae Lee. Hands down, Jae Lee. Though, to be honest, I've always thought his work looked best when colored by Jose Villarubia.

In no particular order:
Will Eisner, John Buscema, Neal Adams, Alex Toth, Ross Andru, Gil Kane, Dave Cockrum, Mike Mignola, John Romita (Sr. and Jr.), Steve Ditko, Todd McFarlane, Erik Larson, Jae Lee, Simon Bisley, Ariel Olivetti, Steve Dillon, Steve Skroce, Bill Sienkiewicz, Alex Maleev, Frank Quitely, Mike Zeck, Gene Ha, Brent Anderson, Bernie Wrightson, Travis Charest, Geoff Darrow, Cully Hamner, Leilnil Yu, Mark Texiera, Doug Mahnke, Ed McGuinness, Don Kramer, J.G. Jones, Claudio Castellini, Carlos Pacheco, Walt Simonson, Howard Chaykin, Sam Kieth and Jack "the King" Kirby.
As great as all of them are, I have three others that I consider my holy-comics-trinity growing up that I put on a special pedestal: George Perez, John Byrne and Frank Miller.
(I left Cary Nord and Ryan Ottley off the list because it looks too much like sucking up around here-great young artists)

Wow, a lot of people didn't really even try to narrow them down, did they? Damn, I should've asked for peoples reasons too, anybody who feels like posting from now on want to post reasons too? I like Bermejo because of the depth and realism, and nobody has dabbled in cubism in comic art before, either. Dell Otto because he's like a mix of Jim Lee type comic book art, and more traditional stuff, so it adds a different element to everything.
Can honestly say I don't really like any of the older artists, although I respect them all, I'm not hugely zeroed in on comics for comics sake, I like art and literature, and I just seem to like comics more for the potential of really putting them together for a whole new experience. Actually, Will Eisner seemed to know that really well, so I do like him, even if he was more of a cartoonist.

Wow! I didn't think this would be as hard as it is. There are far too many amazing talents out there. These are my 4 favorites right now.
Frazer Irving - The man does everything. Pencils, inks, AND colors! Everything he touches turns to gold in my hands. From "Fort: Prophet of the Unexplained" up through "Silent War", the man is amazing. His Judge Death stuff was insanely creepy.
Kevin Nowlan - Anybody looking to be inspired needs to pick up the Modern Masters on Nowlan that TwoMorrows put out. Simply amazing! Exciting, dramatic, and dynamic are only 3 of the many words I'd use to describe his art.
Alan Davis - Everybody loved John Byrne and George Perez when I was growing up, but for me it didn't get any better than Alan Davis. His version of Nightcrawler is tops! Batman: Full Circle and JLA: The Nail are two personal favorites.
Neal Adams - His artwork on Batman, The Phantom Stranger, and Deadman were part of my inspiration to draw comics. Nobody draws a better Batman, period. Here's a great quote by Harlan Ellison: "There are artists who come along who do wonderful work, innovative work, even stylistically seminal or germinal work, but they don't change the face of the craft or the social conscience of the industry. Neal did that".
