i must ask, how did you get that light coming from the corner? i mean, how do you do that, how do you make it look like a light? what do you use!? also, the lighting on her head, how do you do this? im a beginner colorist, actually, i cant even be called a colorist, im more a penciler and writer. as far as this pic it looks real good, have you done any professional work before? what is your rates per page?

ena: I think what you're wanting to do regarding 'making light look like light', is put the 'light beam' layer over the lineart layer, so it can shine without being obstructed by the artwork. That's the important bit, the rest is just down to judicious use of layer blending modes (say, Screen), painting, blurring, smudging, gradients etc.

...Sorry if that advice is patronising, I just haven't seen you do it in your stuff yet, and the 'light' problem bugged me when I started out.

Oh wow thanks! I havent done anything professional i'm a beginner my self i started coloring a year ago hehehe :D

And oh about the light i used a polygonal tool to layout the rays then i used gradient and then i used a filter -motion blur :D
