Marvel Ultimate Alliance... uh whats the big deal about this game again?? I rented it and honestly I don't really like it. It really doesn't take 4 characters to beat up 1 robot everytime, unless it's a Sentinel perhaps. The camera thing isn't that great, and.... I'm bloody lost. I went straight, beat up everyone I saw... Kept following the arrow map kep thing, and yet I'm not finding FFF anywhere. And I have no idea how I'm suppose to do some of these achievements... They are almost all "Secret".

What's "FFF"? As for the acheivements, don't cheat or use any codes. As soon as you do it locks out all acheivement earning and you'll just have to start a new game from scratch to get'em. Most of them have to do with how many people you kill, how you kill them, defeating bosses, scores in the comic misisons, costumes you've unlocked.....etc. Some are secret though. The "Good Semaritan" can only be unlocked if you go through the entire Cityscape level without killing s single skrull. The only way I was able to do it was eliminate everyone from my team and use only a flyer to just fly on through the whole map. ;)
It's a fun game but what makes it fun is how you use each character in each situation. Certain poeple can do certain things that make it more fun, such as Colossus and Wovlerine on a team together can do a fastball special, having Daredevil and Elektra together make for some really neat combos. If you ignore the little stuff like that, than yeah.... it's you basic hack'n slash with a few puzzles tossed in and could get pretty damn boring.
Give it another shot and try to play from an all out fanboy point of veiw (not a popular idea I know). Really give some thought to your team and how to evel them up. It makes things waaaaay more fun. PM me with whatever you're stuck on. I'm hopelessly addicted to that game. :whistlin:

I bought this game about 2 months ago for my PS3, played it for about 20 minutes, ejected it and went straight back to playing Resistance. I liked X-Men legends, and this is exactly the same thing. I was just expecting something more from all the hype it got. Still, I think I'll give it another shot just because I need to take a break from Resistance for awhile. I feel what you're getting at though Artsta.

Oddly enough, I didn't like the game as much as the others. I still like Legends II the most. But once the game drops to $20, I'll pick it up for the 360 because it's still a fun party game.

That it is... and the dowmload content improved it's replay value. Being able to play as Sabertooth, Venom, and Hawkeye make it that much better.

You really can't miss him. He is the boss fight for that level (SHIELD helicarrier).
Be sure to check all destroyable walls and skylights. Some need a trick to open, like you have to push a box in the second floor to let it crash down on the glass floor below.

My friend and I rented this, and for the short time we got to play, it wound up being wolverine who finished almost all the boss fights. Everybody else seemed to die too easily.

You mean Deadpool plays exactly like him since they basically stole the moves for Deadpool from Nightcrawler in X-Men Legends.
After this thread, I was inspired to reinstall my PC version of this and play more. It is a bit too much like the X-Men Legends games, and the story is a bit lame for ignoring the fact that some of these characters would never behave that way (Winter Soldier joining up with the villains? WTF?) and characters who should already know eachother get the same lame generic greetings.
For this kind of game, I prefer lots of treasure and items, but that always struck me wrong in X-Men Legends at the same time. Ultimate Alliance is hardly perfect, but it's fun stuff all the same.

OK, ok... so I never played Legends or Legends 2. Maybe that's why I've been so hung up on UA instead. Looking at screenshots they certainly are similar, but I just never played'em.
As for Fin Fang Foom, the end of that level is one of those cases where it helps to lok at the minimap as much as the rest of the screen. Atlantis is the same way. Just pay attention to where on the minimap is white and which parts are red.

Basically UA has the same game engine with Legends 1 & 2, with the most noticeable difference being its next gen hardware support and a different render style for the characters (the texture packs of this game sums up for most of the game's 7 gb filesize). I personally don't see how UA is such a big deal too but it is a bit more fun playing as Iron Man or Thor than playing as The X-Men. And you can make your own team-ups!

yeah i finally found him. i haven't gotten to pull off one one of those Y button super attacks, it never lights up for me to do so. I can do A, X, and B attacks though.
When I got to MoDok or whatever his name is I was quite suprised, I basically guessed at his questions and only got 2 wrong.

Yeah, some of those questions are pretty bizaar. But whe you play on the harder settings, they get a lot tougher. Keep at it though, once you get to create your own team, and your team stats begin to level up the way your heroes' do, the game overall becomes a lot more fun.

yeah i'm playing on hard, it wouldn't let me play on hardest though. i have to agree with whoever said wolverine seems to be the most powerful, because i've switched up the teams plenty of times and wolvie is the only one who really hasn't died. i think thor and the thing also didn't die.

I hate the parts where you have to input the correct buttons in order to disarm bombs or fighting bosses. It's a lot tougher when you use a keyboard on the PC version. I don't have a compatible joystick and the keys are so far apart.

I can deffinately see how that would pose a problem. The biggest challenge for me has been the comic missions. easy to win, but very hard to get gold rank.

I love this game, but I never played Legends. I flew through the game, and I did use the code to unlock all the characters beforehand so I could play with them and mix and match however I chose. I left all the other codes alone though.
Doctor Strange and Mister Fantastic saved my bacon a ton of times. Captain America, Wolverine and Black Panther are great hand to hand fighters to have along. DD ain't bad either, and Ms. Marvel is another great survivor.
I'm still experimenting with characters and getting golds in the comic missions to find out which team I'll stick with permanently for the hard level.
Who do we want to see in a second version of the game?
Not counting Cyclops, Hawkeye and Hulk (the upgrades) my list would be: Ant-Man, Black Knight, Cloak, Dagger, Falcon, Hercules, Iron Fist, Namor, Nova, Punisher, Quicksilver, She-Hulk, Songbird, Vision, Wasp, and Wonder Man
HaphazardJoy

Cloak and Dagger would be awesome in this style of game, and I was kind of hoping for Punisher too. Ones like Ant-Man and Wasp though, how would their powers translate into these games?
It'd be kind of cool if they split it up more between street-level heroes and more cosmic heroes. The game is fun, but even for a game based on a comic book, it stretches credulity a bit with the story and gameplay. In straight-up melee terms, most of the characters are identical. Having a punch from Daredevil land as hard as a punch from Thor doesn't make a whole lot of sense. It'd be great to have more of the SUPER super heroes in a cosmic story, and then have the street-level heroes against organized crime and Hydra and stuff like that. Generally I tend to like the street/merc guys more anyway... it'd be cool to see like:
Cloak, Dagger, Iron Fist, Luke Cage, Daredevil, Spider-Man, Wolverine, Gambit, Callisto, Punisher, Moon Knight, etc.

now that doesn't make any sense... how can you possibly play as dr. doom when he's the one causing all the trouble??? i noticed him in the line up under villian pack in the game and i was like huh?

Probably all the bloody bugs and glitches all us first release purchasers had to suffer through.

Once I saw the ending when you play with Doom.....it's as cheesy ans Doom himself. It's pretty easy to figure out on your own. Mandy asked me how they would play it out and I threw out a random scinario and sure enough.... that's what it was. I won't ruin it here though.
Sabertooth plays just like Wolverine so that's no biggie but having two Wolverines on you're team can be nice at times. For me though, the real fun came with Venom and Magneto. Magneto's Extreme Power is also a nice touch because it increses the damage done by everyone else power by 56%.
God, I'm such a geek.

Extreme powers are available once the character has leveled up enough and cost two skill points.
As for Doombot.... well....I'm not gonna' ruin it. ;)
