Well, since Darren posted the cover, I guess it's finally safe for me to show this (I've been biting my tongue on this one for a few months now =D ).
For me, this was one of those extremely cool projects that only comes along once in a lifetime. As some of ya know, Blue Water is launching a comic line based on the works of Ray Harryhausen. Darren's asked me to do a few of the covers here and there for some of the con variants for the books, which I was happy to do. But he also asked me if I'd do some of the 'super secret' covers as well.
The super secret covers were Ray Harryhausen's old pencil renderings. All Darren wanted me to do was colorize em. No fancy glows, multiple light sources, etc. Just simple colorizing.
For a huge scifi/fantasy geek like myself, I don't think I have to say how much of a fanboy moment this was. For me, this is pretty much the equivalent of being asked to color some old Kirby or Ditko sketches. I'm just that much of a scifi/fantasy geek
Anyway, enough of my rambling and geeking out.
Pencils: Ray "OMFG!!!" Harryhausen

And here's a link showing the pencils and the final cover with logos. It's pretty large, or I woulda just posted it instead: 3 step process (http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/55963118/)
And before I forget, there's at least 3 more of these colorized covers coming up that I was lucky enough to do.
:bounce:
