Perseus was a cool boss battle.
No one is safe in this game. Jason became a meal. Part 3 needs Hercules.

I thought it was assumed Hercules was dead or something like that since he hasn't been mentioned. At least I don't think he was mentioned in either of the games.

Yeah, traditionally it seems, Zeus thinks he can handle it, realizes he can't, then sends for Hercules or some such :)

What's that sword Kratos has at the end? It's pretty neat.

Just watching the cut scenes (yeah, you can find them all on YouTube ;) ), does anybody else get the impression that Kratos will succeed, but in the third game he'll wind up having to fight the titans?

As for Hercules, I'm thinking (based on the theory above) and his lack of presence in the first two games, that he'd be a perfect "partner" in a two player co-op mode (or even a single player switch-between-characters co-op mode).

I'd say Hercules is Kratos. They put two characters (Cratos of the mythical lore, son of Pallas & Styx, with Herc) and mesh them into this badass. Rumor has it GOW3 will have Kratos' brother as the villain.

His brother was mentioned in a scene they cut in the first game.

Do you have the link for that scene? I keep wondering where they mention his brother since it's listed in God Of War's Wikipedia entry but I don't recall anything that referenced it.
