A firmware update this year will fix that. I think they are testing to see if anyone actually wants the games.

Hot damn I'm gonna have to buy this fucker sooner than expected if they get that fixed. I know I have to buy one for MGS4, and for the first time in my life I'm hoping for a delay so I don't have to release the $600 from my bank account. :laugh:

There's not a lot there really, there was shit ton more stuff on Xbox marketplace by this time last year, and Wii has all those VC titles to keep the campers happy.

Needs to be stepped up some

First one is Super Stardust HD. (http://www.1up.com/do/previewPage?cId=3158563&sec=PREVIEWS)

"In the game you control a tiny spacecraft that hovers over planets. Your mission is simple: destroy everything in sight. The ship has three different weapons, each of which has a different impact on the various asteroids and ice crystals floating around. For example, while some weapons are able to break asteroids more effectively than others, they create far more debris as well. After blowing up enough asteroids and crystals, enemies appear -- once you eliminate those, you move onto the next phase. Each planet has five phases, with the last featuring a boss battle."

[URL="http://www.1up.com/do/previewPage?cId=3158680&sec=PREVIEWS"]Second game is Nucleaus. (http://media.1up.com/media?id=3247651)

"For instance, Nucleus doesn't take place in outer space, but in "Inner Space" (no relation to the film, as far as we know). And instead of shooting aliens, you fight bacteria while swimming around blood cells and collecting proteins. Players control a "remote unit" which looks a bit like a sperm cell. It, ahem, squirts, shoots, and deploys protein bombs (once enough protein has been collected). To gain more protein, players need to shoot cells that release it."

I wonder if Nintendo, Microsoft and Sony realize how much power is in their online market places. I'm definitely picking up a PS3 to revel in MGS4 this fall, and my original plan was to eBay the system after playing myself thoroughly sick with the game. I'd hang on to the expensive bugger if I could amass a killer old school library with games like JetMoto, Twisted Metal 2, etc....the type of classic games I love that will never be available on the Wii Shop Channel.

I also dig how Sony is selling their old school games considerably cheaper than Nintendo is. $4.99 for MK2? If and when it comes to Wii, it'll be about $8.00.

Nintendo needs to move away from the classic games, and bring in some new material. They need demos also.

GAUNTLET II
Play as the Warrior, Valkyrie, Elf, or the Wizard in Gauntlet II! Enter a dungeon with several hundred levels as players defeat monster generators that churn out wave after wave of enemies. Players can destroy them to clear the level and find their way to the exit! Collect food for health and magic items for power-ups while plowing through the dungeon. Brought back and available for download exclusively on the PLAYSTATION 3 computer entertainment system, it’s time to re-experience this classic Midway arcade title.

Replay All Your Favorite Characters – Choose from one of four characters, either Thor the Warrior, Merlin the Wizard, Thyra the Valkyrie or Questor the Elf.

Dungeon Crawling Action in 100+ Unique Levels – Players will fight their way through levels in new ways by having the playfield turned in steps of 90° or the classic invisible walls.

Control Your Enemies’ Fate, Control Your Own – Players will race to make the enemy "It" and avoid becoming "It" themselves! Release the curse that draws all enemies towards you by touching another player or entering the exit. The medieval game of games is on!

Multiplayer Action – Play online against other players through the PLAYSTATION Network. Track wins, and see how everyone stacks up against other players through dedicated leader boards.

Gauntlet II is scheduled to launch on May 3, 2007, on the PLAYSTATION Network for the suggested retail price of $4.99.
