Well I saw both of these movies in the last couple of days and I thought both were just brilliant movies with a lot to offer viewers. Tho personally I thought 300 was the better of the two.

Damn, he got PAID! Looks like Paul Newman bought 'em to boot.
When did Eastman sell his rights over to Laird? Couldn't have been before the big TMNT toy/cartoon explosion, was it? Perhaps right before the Image title?

Eastman sold his rights a while back. He needed money and Laird had money. This was after the big TMNT craze.
Eastman has been trying to sell this art for $1 Million for the last 10 years, so the auction is about 1/4 of what he hoped to get for the art. I doubt that the art was really sold. Just because the auction ends with a bidder that doesn't mean that the bid or the auction is legit.

Either Eastman or Laird is married to a terrible actress, one that is not Bea Arthur. Or any of the Golden Girls.

More of a B-grade actress that takes her top of alot and an ex Penthouse Pet of the Year.
They made the Heavy metal: Fakk2 movie together.
Plus there are tons of photos of her at the Heavy metal website.
Hey I'm a Heavy Metal fan from way back - dont hassle me! :slap:

Strain isn't a b movie actress..she's a soft core porn actress.
Eastmen used to own heavy metal but I think heard he sold that too. He sold his half of the turtles to laird in like 96. Those pages are nothing compared to what he could have had had he not sold his share. I think he sold the share to fund the heavy metal mag purchase and the movie.

T.M.N.T. kicked ass. I saw it tonight, and I loved it. Instead of just focusing on Mikey and Raph they also made Leo an integral part of the story. That never happened in the other movies or cartoons....they did a great job!

Leo is a big guy in the original comics...I mean, he DIED

did he die? i know the movies and cartoons never really gave him a personality. I didn't read the original comics...always missed them, and my comic store had back issues at $20.00 each...it sucked. I remember reading a comic where they were older, and they looked more turtleish and it's was really brutal....or at least it seemed that way to me....

I got the TPB collection from First Comics, it was colored and collects the issues where The Turtles go into space and fought the triceratops. It was brutal and very different from the cartoon show, but I really couldn't tell which Turtles is which when they're not holding their weapons (they all wear red eye masks). The only character that is easily recognizable character-wise was Donatello.

Nothing is as good as the mirage comics. Yeah he died then mirage stopped making the turtles comics. Erik Larsen got the rights for a year and totally pissed me off by bringing leo back as a part robot. ugh.

Those old comics were great. They did some cool and wild stuff after they finished making fun of Daredevil.
I remember having a three parter where this leech sucked some of their blood and mutated into this big monster the turtles had to kill. It was a pretty wicked story.
I think Splinter died as well in the original run before it ended although I can't quite remember.
