Geico Cavemen get pilot order from ABC. (http://smallscreen.monstersandcritics.com/news/article_1272112.php/Geico_Cavemen_get_pilot_order_from_ABC)
ABC’s new pilot is so unusual, a caveman might have pitched it. The Alphabet has just green lit a pilot based on those hilariously touchy cavemen from the Geico ads.
‘Cavemen’ will feature three pre-historic men fighting for respect as they try to live regular lives in modern day Atlanta. Planned as a single-camera comedy, the show will be written by Joe Lawson, who also created the original 30-second commercial spots. As you may recall, the Geico ads featured modern cavemen getting offended at the company slogan “so easy a caveman could do it” in regards the insurance company’s user-friendly website.

I actually like those commercials but I can't see a full sitcom based on them.

What I find ironic is, have any of you ever been to the geico site? Try finding the commercials there.
That site is anything but user friendly and easy...

Even a caveman could watch it, it's as easy as ABC.

This seems like something Fox would have done when they started going national (86-87?) and seemed as if they said "yes" to every proposal thrown at them.
"What's that? A man goes back in time to live with himself as a teenager? Approved!"
"35 year old cops go undercover in different high schools every week to take 30 year old high school students off the street? Approved!"
"A woman president? That's the whole hook? Nothing else? It's just about a woman president? Approved!"
"A nuclear war wipes out all life on Earth leaving only five survivors to scour the earth for signs of life and hope? And it's a comedy? Approved!"

What's really sad is, to know all of those (I do recall the last one though), you'd have had to watch them all.

I don't have a clue what any of those are...

The 35 year old cops one was 21 Jump Street w/ Johnny Depp.
I recall the first one about the time traveler living w/ himself but can't recall the name of the show.
The only female president show I can think of was the one with Gina Davis and Donald Sutherland from a year or so back and I don't think it was on Fox.
The last one has me stumped.

"A nuclear war wipes out all life on Earth leaving only five survivors to scour the earth for signs of life and hope? And it's a comedy? Approved!"It was called Whoops! or Oops! or something.
Can't believe you didn't mention Herman's Head, man...
*Edit* It was called Woops!

:) Yeah. Sad I know. That's probably why I don't watch much tv today. Burned myself out by the time I finished college.
Or was subconsciously traumatized by the early fox line up.
Either-or.

The time traveller one: one of the dudes from "Friends" was in it. Might have been Matthew Perry but I can't say for sure.
The second one may be me remembering a show wrong as it may have been a presedential sitcom with the first lady as the focal point of the show, or what have you. The only thing that I can fully remember is that the dad from Different strokes was in it.
The third one was called "whoops" or "oops" or "Who greenlit this thing", "You can't be serious", "I owe the creator a favor" or something along those lines :) .

21 Jumpstreet was one of my favorite shows. Johnny Depp, Holly Robinson, Peter DeLuise and eventually Richard Grieco (remove the R it's almost Geico).
Fantastic. lol.
I did like it though.
Second Chance, Woops (from the early 90s) are vaguely familiar.
What was the one about the woman president? Oh, I see you were talking about Mr. President with George C. Scott.
