Interesting to see who Snyder was talking to about Ozymandias, defintly shows that the film will be a big deal...and that hes intent on making it R rated is great...even if WB isnt happy with him about that.

I keep having mixed feelings about this, since I love the comics, but this latest news is great, especially the R rating and the pirate comic filming.I really do think this can work.

Cruise is a great actor, and he fits the role of Ozymandias great. Ever see him in Magnolia ? Say what you want but the dude can act when he wants.
I hope he gets back in the mix...

What I find ironic is that isnīt Ozymandias rumored to be gay in the comic? Or does my memory fail (again)?

Jesus... what difference does THAT make?
He'd fit, to a degree, because he can act. But would he really be suitable? Isn't the character a tall, model-looks, blonde guy? Tom Cruise doesn't fit that - he's good looking and has a good body, sure, but he isn't this character. It doesn't fit.

Nothing, itīs just FUNNY, considering the rumours of Cruiseīs sexual orientation! You have no sense of humor?
I donīt hate Tom Cruise, nor do I care who gets casted, as long as he does a good job, even though I have little faith in this project.

I always thought Brad Pitt would fit the role perfectly. I don't think I can take Cruise seriously as Ozymandias, not for lack of talent, but simply because he doesn't seem to match the part.

I don't think Cruise is a bad actor but in that particular role I honestly didn't see what was so great about his acting. When he's on stage his posture looked rather effeminate and he appeared to be very uncomfortable throughout.
Ozy reminds me more of Matthew McConaughey, If he could only lose that little accent of his I think he'd do well.
I wonder about why the director would want to film the black Freighter comic that doesnt make sense to me.
About Kovack's mask, I think it'd be relatively simple to do if you use CGI, remember those Dots they used on The hills have eyes? Well I think if you dress up the actor in a Blue/green hood and leaving his face exposed, possibly also painted blue/green, you could manipulate the inkblots according to his expressions with the dots strategically placed on his face. At least that's how I'd attempt to do it.

Jude Law would be awesome, as I think he can act better than any of the above mentioned gentlemen. If they can make him look a bit older, it'd work.

Don't you mean Way of the Gun? I actually enjoyed that movie too (I only saw the first five minutes, but that's the part where he punches out Sarah Silverman, so it's cool). My only problem with him is, I'm just not sure he's large enough. Ozymandias isn't some dude who's 5'8", 155 lbs. I'm not advocating using like, Triple H or any wrestler, but at least someone who's a little larger. Other than that, he's a really good actor and could probably pull it off.

As much as Moore comes off a bit bitchy in his interviews (and I just read Exit Interview last night, it's fresh in my head), he really isn't wrong for the most part. From Hell and V were entertaining movies, but they weren't faithful adaptations in the least, and entertaining or not, their hearts were ripped out. I'm expecting the same out of this, I just hope it's at least entertaining. Really glad that Snyder's sticking hard to the R-rating at least.

I can't really answer that question, it'd be surmise on my part. What I can tell you though is that if those who adapt his work were a bit more faithful and respectful of the source material they'd be much more interesting films.

Am I nuts, or have we had Ryan Phillipe suggested for the mid-40s character, Ozymandias? If it's altered so the characters are younger, the whole story falls on its ass. I'll eat Bio's shoelaces if the casting's as bad as that.
