Wow Sobek played Osiris, then snacked on him. I believe we have our 4th Horseman.

I'll be curious to see if he is the 4th horseman, per your prediction. I really didn't see that coming until I picked up this issue. Mind you, Sobek looked much shiftier and meaner throughout the comic, so when it did come I expected it.
Is Ralph dead? I was left a little unsure after the confrontation in Fates tower.
Of course, I thought that was it for Animal Man, too, and now he's Sun Eater Man.
This book has been such a fun read, it's my first read every week. Seeing these B-Grade characters shine in a long-running narrative has been great.
They've kept us guessing. We suspected that Renee Montoya might become Batwoman, and now it appears she may become the Question. Turnabouts.

I really like Renee and I really like The Question, I just hope I like Renee as The Question.
Sobek as the fourth horseman... possibly, but he could have thrown more cogs into the works before now... then again maybe he's behind the despair in Kandaq despite Isis and Adam's attempts.
I really like Black Adam as a edgy 'good' guy, but I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop and for him to go apeshit.

Animal Man has the power of a Sun Eater.
Did anyone else figure out that Sobek=52?

Yeah it has been a great ride, with plenty of buildup and payoff. I hope Countdown is just as good.

I've really enoyed 52 since over the past few weeks. It's a bummer that I didn't get back into comics around the begining of 52. I can't wait until it comes out in TPB's.
I don't know if it's because I didn't read too many DC titles a Decade ago, but the art in DC seems to have improved SO much while I was out of it.
I'm stoked for Countdown.

52 has been really hit and miss, and much, much too long. More of the same from Countdown will really be overkill.

How can you say a book that takes its very name from the simple fact that it will cover 52 weeks (one year) "too long"?
If anything, I think they rush through plots because they are trying to cram way too much into every issue. It reads quick because we get bits and pieces and some weeks we may have to wait two weeks to get one page from a specific plot or character.

I entirely agree with Ian. I've said it before that it can be rough getting deeply interested in the story of one character and then have them sidelined for weeks on end while other plotlines take place, but the good thing overall is that there have been no plotlines that I really didn't care for. I think this is necessary so that the creative talents can keep up with the demands of a weekly book, but even taking weeks between plots, the work DC has put together for 52 has been really impressive and inspiring.
While I'm mostly a Marvel fan, it's interesting to note the consistancy of 52 verses the hit-or-miss nature and delays of Civil War.
