View Full Version : Deleted scenes feat. Qui Gon Jinn from Eps. 2 & 3

I read that a scene was cut from episode II where a ghostly Qui Gon looks down on Anakin in horror as he slays the Tuskin Raiders that killed his mother. Is that true, and if so, is it available as an extra on the DVD?

I also heard that a scene was filmed for episode III where Qui Gon (again in ghost form) communicates with Yoda the way Obi Wan communicated with Luke in the original trilogy. BUT, Wikipedia says it wasn't filmed at all because Neeson broke his leg and was unavailable for filming. Anyone know the truth?

Those wouldn't be added scenes. Both are in the movie....as mere mentions. EpII had the voice of Qui Gon calling out Anakin's name (but the "nooooo" was the cry of a victim..not Qui Gon.), EpIII was rumored to have him show up infront of Yoda as he medatated through the force and explain how it could be used to make them more powerful. ( Obi Wan used it before getting struck down by Vader....Yoda used it as he died.)

But instead of the long winded convo between them...Lucas decided to just make Yoda mention it in passing.

During the Tusken slaughter it is indeed QUi Gon's voice yelling "Anakin". Unmistakable.

Can't speak for Episode 3 but I was under the impression that the sound bite of Neeson's voice in Episode 2 was taken from Episode One. Lucas cut and pasted it from the deleted scenes. I think I read that in a feature on Star Wars just before the release of sith. Can't remember what magazine it was though.
