Pencils by Chasen Grieshop, no inks.

This looked so easy to do at the start and then I discovered all the fiddley little details! Two weeks later and its done! :+P Chasen draws like a dead -ringer for Mike Turner too IMO. Check out his deviantart account at http://particle9.deviantart.com

cheers

Too much even texture on the tree branches. With all of the bright gold light from her hand and fairy like figure, why is there no similar light on her figure? Why is there yellow light on the left side when there is no apparent source in the foreground or background? Why does the necklace throw strong light blue light on her shirt but nothing else?

Against my better judgement Iwon't comment on the pencils but your coloring is really really nice, as usual! Good stuff!

That Chasen Grieshop does some nice pencils and colors all by himself. It looks like you turned it up a notch for him with the nice textures overall and brightness to the piece.
SeanE if you look at the picture of Chasen Grieshop on his site he's a dead ringer for my friend from midnightoilstudios.com. All you gotta do is shave Chasen's head bald and he would look just like him. SeanE if you want ask spiraldreams to send you a pic of himself in his baseball hat cuz I know he has that pic of himself on his computer. You'll definitely do a double take. Well at least I did.

Not digging the pencils much (not a big fan of Turner or his style), but those colors are drop-dead gorgeous. The texture on the trees is incredible.

Wher do you use smudge and How much dodging do you use. I've been told to stay away from those tools yet the pros use them quite frequently.

Can you tell me where on the piece you might've used dodge or smudge?

Great work by the way :)

smudge - just about anywhere you can see one gradient blending into another - the boobs for example

I never use the dodge tool.
