Hi guys,

About a year ago, I was bitten by the CDisplay bug.

And after moving earlier this year, it was all I needed to decide that I had to replace my comic collection (5 bookshelves) with CBR files on DVD (Comic Book Reader). Moving 5 bookshelves of comics, plus 2 bookshelves of books, and various binders of model sheets/storyboards/etc is not fun.

Although with around 10 000 comics, and hundreds of books/etc, it will probably take me 20 years to scan all of that. ;)

Strange since over a year ago, getting rid of my paper comics would have been unthinkable. How things change.

Also I have tons of black and white comics that either got somewhat damaged, or simply became yellow with time. But now, I can restore them once scanned using photoshop.

Here are a few black and white pieces that you guys might get a kick looking at.

I've thought about selling a few of my comics and keeping the trades.
I'm not sure yet.

So, did they discolor because you didn't have them in comic bags with backing boards?

There is some stuff that I will always keep (ex;my Crisis on Infinite Earth hardcover). But I will give away the rest. Or maybe sell them??

But I will pretty much have to destroy some of my tpbs and essentials to be able to get a good scan of them. :( Guess I won't be able to give them away.

No bags and boards for me. Also I read them a thousand times each. And in some cases it shows. Some of them are literally falling appart. I got my comics to read them, not to collect. I did not know of bags and boards as a kid, and later taking them in and out of their bags/boards was just a pain.

So no bags and boards so that I could read my comics whenever I wanted.

Well, I bought my comics to read as well, but as much as they cost most are going into bags.

I have a lot of bagging to do.

I cold never give mine away, not the ones I truly treasure. That's like trying to get rid of a part of myself. Can't do it.

Did not mean anything about the reading comment.

That is another thing....

Can you imagine not only bagging about 10 000 comics (although I only had a few hundreds 20 years ago ;)), but changing the bags every few years??

I can't help but wonder how some people do it.

How do you do it?? How big is your collection??

Cold? :p

I have a lot to go through, two long boxes, about twelve totes and a few boxes.

Some might find their way to Ebay sometime this year.

So, I can buy older comics, and some clothing. ;)

French.

I pretty much grew up reading black and white french translation of Marvel comics.

By popular demand, here are some more.

Someone mentioned somewhere how Iron Man never had a great run. So I thought I could add some sample of it's "no great run". ;)

Hope you guys like it.

Kinda bold of you, not to mention hardcore, what with the time it must take.

I've got to decide what to do with the 1000+ comics at my family home now my mum's changing the layout. My storage room is to be no more, but right now I have only 1 room of my own. I wish I could do what you're doing.
