Moonstone logo...

How do you guys like this logo re-design I did?
I thought the old Moonstone logo was kind of passe so I spent an hour or so trying a different spin on the design but keeping its primary look in place. I posted it on their forums but they don't have much traffic so I haven't received any comments.

Personally, I think it's too slick. I'm not a fan of metal in logos because they tend to not reproduce well.

With that said, other than tilt it and shine it (shapes and fonts look like the original to me), what have you done to it?

well he did tilt it a little and put the big moon behind it.

I didn't want to offend them and do something totally new so this was just a 3D polish of the old black and white 2D logo of theirs.
I did it so I could introduce my graphic novel Devoid of Life to them to see if they are interested in picking it up.

And yes an editor is looking at the project now.
Do me a favor and send them an email encouraging them to pick it up please?

Ok, so you really didn't create a new logo...at least you understand that, the title of the post is misleading.

That said, as a word of advice, I know the vast majority of publishing companies would prefer you NOT put their logo on your submission...some even get rather upset about it. In the future, I strongly suggest ommitting it.

BTW-the Devoid of Life logo has some swank, nice work...but I don't understand the emphasis on the V.
