i havn't really just sat down an sketched in awhile. these days i usually have some kind of reference even if it's vauge. ever since i've been getting paid to draw(since june 2005) i've been trained to use gestural lines(when doing caricatures) and deliberate strokes with the airbrush.repetition.over and over.(habit and routine make my life possible :bounce: )there's not a lot of room for error.i could cheat and use a projecter like i've seen some of the other airbrush guys (it's laughable how obvious it is...) :p .
but that just kills the creativity for me.. the minute i have to use frisket and an xacto knife it feels like work :yuk: i use a small hand held template to shield overspray.
so my buddy asks me why i never take my time on one piece because she thinks i would do killer stuff.i giggle to myself because i only have one speed...
fast....if i took a week or an hour i don't see that much difference.i'm built for live art . i've worked with FAR
better artists then myself, but tend to have the advantage when it comes to working live in front a crowd...part of the appeal of my type of work is the showmanship of it. some of these guys would bring a porfolio of beautiful digital art to show off to the customers..but put them on the spot in front of paying customers and they crumble and do shabby work at best.i think the computer is a handy tool that allows less talented craftsmen the opportunity to create great artwork.
anyways..i'm going to try and take my time with this pic.i'm thinking T2metal .i sketched it,went over it in ink(i never do that anymore).i started coloring it but i'm having trouble uploading it..i'll try tomorrow. is this a good start?
