I have a Phoenix/Polaris I will hopefully post later, but most likely tomorrow... as for a HEROES piece.

she doesnt look like a slave to me... Kinda looks indian though, like indian royalty. It's the eyes I think, and the way shes dressed. Also the skintone. Very cartoony style though, everything looks sharp from the perspective of someone who likes to look at cool pictures.

I think this is pretty and well done...BUT I think the color and texture of her skin and the wall should be totally different. She blends in to the wall too much. I do like the other colors though.

Never saw Return of the Jedi... have you?
As for the background/skin blending together, it's the paper I used on the piece. Brown Bag paper. The Background is more or less an afterthought for the client, they're more concerned w/ Leia.

Naw, I dont go in for sci fi. I was expecting someone who looks like a slave though. You know, chains and poorly fed, scars/signs of being beaten.
Also the colors associate wealth. Purple was one of the most wealthy colors back in the day and it's still embedded in our minds as a color of wealth, and it looks like shes wearing a hell of a lot of god.

That would be the costume she wore in the movie. And you've never heard of a sex slave?

Sadly, No. I'll be cutting my Cons down to the following this year:
Star Wars Celebration 4 (LA)
Heroes Con (Charlotte, NC)
San Diego Comic Con
Wizard World Texas
Dallas Sci-Fi 2007
Those 6 are definite. Last year I did 10 shows and it's pretty exhausting. 3 of the biggest (HEROES/SDCC/Chicago) were in a span of 3 weeks. Not meeting people and doing sketches, I love that, just the travel and hotels and stuff.

Thanks Sergio. I now work mostly in this style. Some people commissions me to do things more detailed and less animated, but I seem to be pushing that more to the side and embracing what I do best.

Wow, nice job! Leia's form is really nicely balanced...the only thing that - just my opinion - bugs me is the shape of the dark form behind her, and I don't really know why it bugs me. But Leia and the couch are wonderful!

i googled it and in the movie shes got a huge chain that dangles from her neck.
Anyway, sex slaves are still usually poorly taken care of, mistreated, and so forth. People who imprison someone don't typically care about their looks. Even with a sex slave.
When I looked at the movie stills they did look strikingly similar so it's definetly got that. So the things I noticed were Lucas's "mistakes"*, not TD's.
I say that in quotes because obviously he's very successfull so he's doing something right.

For whatever reasons you managed to avoid ever viewing Return of the Jedi are on you... I just drew what I was asked to. LOL
It's just a drawing folks... no reason to wonder the why's, what's and how's of the Star Wars Universe and why they dressed the way they did.

DOOD..she was chained to a giant SLUG who drooled CONSTANLY and like to lick her face..and had a little gangly creature nibbling at her all the time...I don't know what world you live in..but that does not sound like a dream job to me...ew! :yuk:

It doesn't ? I thought that's what all women wanted. To be bound to some fat slob with little hyper monsters clawing at your ankles.
