Well CAT, they say life is like a box of chocolates... so how can I not dive into that bad-boy, and come up with a cavity the size of Manhattan?
I think it's pretty cool, you think the drawing is damn pretty.
thanks :)
Linework's damn good.
Zipper added later? It's very white!
Damn cool of you to shout-it-out like that, QUONES... thank you.
To answer your question: yes, and no. The zipper was there the whole time. I'm assuming you mean the metal hoop that opens and closes the front of her costume. The original art has that all in there, but once the image was scanned and tinted in PhotoShop... I added a smidge of white spot-color.
So to clarify, yes it is there in the drawing, and yes what you see there now was added later...
yeah, I know... I'm not following that too good myself, and I'm the one who wrote that.
Thanks for the compliment

Thank you for the kind words. I appreciate the fact you mentioned some of the detailing that stood out for you in the drawing, that there tells me you actually looked at the piece. I know, how crazy is that? Looking at art on an artist board... and actually commenting on it??? That's just madness!

Her chin bothers me. It's a very masculine jawline. Still a nice pic, but the chin makes me shudder.
:) Well then, my job here is done... mission accomplished.
I sat there and pondered the ponder and wondered the wonder, should I or shouldn't I draw something in there to make at least one person shudder--
I flipped a coin, and chose to go with 'the shudder' response...
Okay, okay, I kid of course. But I hear you BIOFUNGUS... not sure jaw lines scare me as much as all that... its the adam's apples that we need to be careful of. She has a choker on, so it is hard to see if she does... or if she doesn't... but my bet is she is all woman through and through... good thing I left out the five o'clock shadow... not that there is anything wrong with that ... (don't ask me how this reply took such a wrong turn the way it did... I'm not even sure myself)
but Hell, it's that festive time of the year...
so hopefully that cuts me a little slack.
Thanks for the comment, always nice to get feedback; since I am so close to the stuff to see it clearly 99.9% of the time.

Muy Bonito Franchesco.
My Spanish is not as fluent as I would like it to be, but my Italian lets me guess at it without too much effort. Although I am sure I have offended a few folks in the past without meaning to with my broken spanglish-italianish arble garble. Its like pappa and papa... sound almost the same, but not quite. So if I'm not mistaken-- one means 'dad' and the other means 'potato'... so for everyone out there whose dad is not Mr. Potato Head... it can get a little tricky.
where was I? Oh yeah, I think you think the drawing (or me) looks or is "really good" CESAR, and I thank you for the compliment. Thanks for the compliment JAM... assuming you are referring to the snippet of the Black Cat picture with her mask on. No I didn't do the colors on that one. The talented EVL from this very board did the honors on her.
I hear you on the coloring thing. I don't hate it per se... I enjoy it sure, but just don't have a buring desire to color stuff. I think of myself more as an art director, than a colorist or anything of that sort. The problem I have is not really a problem... I enjoy collaborating with my friends. There are so many talented people out there, and I have been lucky enough to work with some of the very best there is.
So I look forward to seeing what they bring to the party, while I'm busy 'busting a move' on the pencils or inks on a new piece on the docket. It keeps the work flow going, plus I get to have fun with folks who I enjoy working with... that there makes it less and less desirable to change the status quo anytime soon.
it's a win, win! :)

Well sure, you type stuff out like that... and how can I possibly disagree with any of it? From your mouth to God's ear... or something to that effect.
I honestly don't know hot to make that happen really... I don't really know people-- people think I know people... but those people who know the people I know, know not how not that what in the holy heck am I saying??? I was like following it there for a minute... and it was like almost starting to make sense, and maybe even sound a little funny, but then it took a turn for the the wrong side of making sense. Stream of consciousness typing without spell-check as a safety-net is a recipie for --"not making much sense of anything".

Well, as long as it shows potential... then one day when I grow up, I look forward to drawing for reals. :)
Nitpicking is the name of the game mon ami... so please, pick away. Although not sure how much more you would need to see exactly. So if you're telling me that since Tim Sale cant draw himself out of a wet paper bag, then its okay that my artwork can suck... and has the potential to maybe one day be good enough to get published at DC comics so then I can start to suck... then something about that just doesn't make me wanna do cartwheels... not that I know how to do cartwheels, but if I did know how, not sure I would be doing one right about now.
I know you meant well, but if you were trying to come up with the right words that feel more like a back handed compliment, instead of a way to make me feel better about missing the mark on something in this drawing, then mission accomplished, STUPID STUFF TO SAY.
I do appreciate the input... thanks.
