The Governer gets his.... and man is it messed up. I'm not going to spoil anything, but there is a drill, a pair of plyers, a blow torch, and a spoon invovled. o_o

Good read, Kirkman is an animal.

I was thinking... I wonder if she she cleaned the spoon after she put it in the one place, then in the other place.

Man, thought I had seen everything after reading PREACHER and some other Vertigo books

The thing I find the funniest about all of it is WIZARD named The Governor their "Villain of the Year" :D Some villain. Doctor Doom never got his ass handed to him like that :w00t:

Awesome issue.

Of course, Dr. Doom never repeatedly raped and tortured anyone, or cut off anyone's hand. Oh yeah, Dr. Doom also doesn't own a bunch of aquariums full of living zombie heads.

I applaud Wizard's choice.

I thought the Governor is/was an interesting villain. However, I took most of his actions to be based on fear that someone else (Michonne) could be as willing to go further than he. I'm eager to see where he goes next, since it seems like he may have survived the brutal encounter.

I wonder what's happened in the prison while they've been gone...?

pathetic porn-violence. wasn't interesting when ennis did (does) it, isn't interesting here. the worst kind of comics.

To each his own I guess. If it happened in every issue it would be lame, but it needed to happen in this issue. It was the only way. And Enis rules, by the way.

it's late and i'm bored and annoyed, honestly, but hey, that's no skin off the back of this thread...

ennis--two 'n's--rules what, exactly? he did good on 'preacher' in terms of couching his immature fuckfest of 'ideas' into a framework of friendship, which rings even the most misanthropic of bells--probably why so many consider it a 'classic' while other contemporary works go unnoticed......he had cart blanche there...and it is no masterpiece. the rest of his work is structured average crap dressed up in violence and unreadable dialogue...

and if any issue of any worthwhile series 'needed' this kind of nonsense-ploy, well, i wouldn't read, or laud, those series either. that's just me. you all enjoy it for what it's worth, no problems here.

cheap thrills come in a few prescribed forms and titillation is easy...it's more scary, or dumb, depending on the audience, where and when it goes unnoticed. enjoy the comic. i think it's toilet paper and you dig it. we won't change one another's minds. no biggie.

ennis might have gone over the top on preacher sometimes but this stuff reminds me of his "Hitman" stories that, although very very graphic, we used the right way for either humor or making the point of the story. Excellent issue and it really needed to be done because almost everyone reading that issue had allready thought of doing those things to him anyway. Kirkman just delivered it like the comic fan that he is. Thank you....going to go trace...er i mean ink something now.......

Im curious, Chris. I haven't read this issue, so I can't really speak on the scene. However, do you feel the same about some of the violence in series from other mediums? SOPRANOS immediately comes to mind.

Like I said, just curious.

Boo Hoo. Don't read it. The worst kind of comics are the marvel kind anyway. Well, for the most part. I'm talking the modern ones.
