The first opensource website dedicated to creating resources for all comic creators has opened its doors. www.outcaststudios.com has new purpose and soon will have a new look. No longer a private studio, Outcast has now changed its focus to being THE online resource for all comic creators. A studio atmosphere for those on the internet without a studio to call home.
Outcast WIKI is just the first addition to the new Outcast Studios. It will become the main resource of the site complimenting the already vibrant message forum. All users can add their knowledge to the ever growing list of tutorials for writers, pencillers, inkers, colourists, letterers and post production creators. With wiki software everyone who visits the web-site will have the chance to edit previous tutorials or expand on them. The Outcast FORUMS remain the place for creators to try out their new ideas and bounce them off of others. With the combination of wiki and forums vistors can open threads and suggest tutorial ideas or colaborate with others to produce a working tutorial for all comic creators. Nowadays you can jump around google searches and find a good tutorial here and there but finding that specific tutorial you're looking for will no longer be a problem.
"WOW that sounds great!" you say. Well yes it is but just like every resource database you have to start with the very first input. That input will come from you the visitor. The crew at Outcast Studios has worked hard to set up the basic infrastructure to the resource. We've broken up the wiki into categories and sub categories and now are opening it up to the public. We're asking for some simple things to help us jump-start this project. The first of which is to check out the wiki software and give us your impressions. You can visit the wiki at http://www.outcaststudios.com/wiki. Feel free to comment in this thread or register at the message board and join the wiki discussions.
Jump on board for the new Opensource Outcaststudios Wiki. It's the beginning of something good.
Thanks for your ear.
